I was very disappointed last time I ate there too, about 2 weeks ago. Hadn't eaten there in about 1.5 years. It used to be great! Great food (rare around here) large portions, fair prices and good service. Now the food is mediocre, prices are almost double, you get 1/2 the amount of food (1/3 the fries), and experienced/ attentive waitresses are gone. The burgers used to be the best, they are definitely using a cheaper patty now. I brought the rock hard sandwich bread to waitresses' attention and I got 10% off of my bill (I wasn't looking for a discount). The bill was over $50 for lunch for 2 and a kids meal (sandwich, burger and kids frozen chicken tenders). I left the discount as a tip and won't be back. They may think they're being savvy business owners, but they're shooting themselves in the foot. Business will definitely suffer. Sad, I used to enjoy this place.

We were lost on the other side of Yosemite, and needed gas and to feed the family. The gas station guy recommended Steve's place next door. He guaranteed we would like anything on the menu there. He was absolutely correct. The food was excellent, the quality was good, and they were nice enough to serve us with less that 30 minutes left to close. To top it off I had ordered the special, Shepherd's pie (excellent all around), and Steve himself comes out and offers for us to take home the rest of the lamb stew used in the dish. I love these local diners for the experiences you get, and the people that go with them. Thank you, Steve and the rest of the great staff that helped us out last night!

Stopped here before heading into Yosemite park. It’s styled like a typical local breakfast place. Tucked away next to the gas station and for some reason GPS took us down by the park around the corner. Once we got inside, no one was there! It was nice to have the place to ourselves and not have to wait. It was around 10:30am so I assume we beat the rush. I got the stuffed pb&j French toast that was fried. Honestly that was just ok, I could’ve gone with some pancakes instead. The loaded hash browns though were amazing! My friend had pancakes and the hash browns also. It filled us up all day and lasted through multiple miles of walking through Yosemite!

I really thought I liked this place, but after todays experience I’m ok with taking my money elsewhere. We’ve been working nearby for the last week and a half and have dropped a couple hundred bucks on food from this place. Seemed like a really cool joint and we had already recommended it to family and friends. Now I’ll be retracting my praise and advising against this establishment.

Todays the last day in this job, so my boyfriend went and got a pizza and brought it back to the job so we could munch and wrap up the job. I was super hungry and the first bite was alright, but the second was hard to stomach. I took a couple more bites and just couldn’t do it. My boyfriend comes and gets a slice and spits it into his napkin. Somthing was off about the pizza, overwhelmingly salty and …fishy? I pulled back the cheese and found anchovies.

Ok so no big deal right? Some people like anchovies, but we don’t. We have never ordered anchovies on anything ever. He ordered an Alfredo Pizza with sausage, onions, chicken and artichoke. I figured it was just a misunderstanding and offered to go take it back. So I went back and explained that he didn’t order anchovies and the cashier seemed really nice about it and asked if I just wanted a redo. I told her that would be great and went outside and waited for it to be ready. 25 minutes later I go in and ask if it’s ready, the cashier tells me it is then tells me it’s going to be $26. So I’m like, ummm, wait? I thought you were guna just swap them out since the other one wasn’t what I ordered. The cashier then starts to tell me it was what my boyfriend had ordered and the girl in the back starts trying to back the cashier up saying she heard him say anchovies.

Ok so I’m sorry but why if we have never ever in either of our life’s ordered anchovies on anything, ever….why would he have said anchovies?

I see how possibly they could have misheard him and artichokes and anchovies both start with the same letter, so a simple misunderstanding seems plausible.

I’ve worked in customer service for over ten years and these people are poster children of exactly what not to do when handling an issue with a guest.

The cashier goes to the back and gets an older gentleman whom I’m guessing was Mr. Steve the head Hancho at Steve’s Sportsman’s Cafe and he was quite a poor sport about the situation.

He comes out with the pizza I had brought back and the newly made pizza and sets them down on the counter stating that both pizza were made exactly as they had been ordered. I disagreed and explained to him that neither of us have ever ever ordered anchovies before on anything and he told me that didn’t matter because my boyfriend had ordered anchovies. He then proceeded to tell me he had been standing right there when my boyfriend ordered and he had heard him say anchovies…this was a lie because my boyfriend told me the girl had to go to the back to tell someone they had a pizza order placed once he ordered. * so Steve’s a liar he was not standing there and he didn’t even know an order had been placed until the cashier gal went and told him.

This is where I was literally shocked at how poorly this man handled the situation. He asks me where my boyfriend is and i tell him he’s back at the job. He tells me to go get him, he wants to talk to him. Im looking at him like ….really dude…and then he tells me to get my phone and call my boyfriend because he needs to have a word with him. I go out to the truck, get my phone, call my boyfriend and on the third time calling he answers (because he’s working), the cashier gets Steve and I hand him the phone. All I hear of the conversation is Steve saying what did you order? No you didn’t. No you didn’t. What did you order? Say that again! Say that again! Yea right whatever. Steve then hands me back my phone and tells me he’s going to do somthing for me. He tells me, but first never order pizza from here again! So I reply, ok fine by me. Steve pats his palm on the pizza box’s and says I’m going to let you take both of these pizzas never...

I thought I kinda liked this place but really their food isn’t that great and the staff is completely incompetent in managing emotions over a simple miscommunication. Anchovies and artichokes both start with (A) but they are totally different things and anchovies is somthing neither my boyfriend nor I have ever asked for on anything. So when I take our pizza back thinking it was just a little mistake, they tell me we ordered anchovies and wanted me pay for the do over pizza after I’d already been waiting 25 min for them to remake it. When I tell them I thought they were just fixing the issue the cashier has to go get the owner and the owner tells me to call my boyfriend since he was the one who first made the order, the owner then speaks to my boyfriend on the phone very rudely telling my boyfriend over and over how he did not say artichoke he said anchovies, then when he hangs up he tells me he’s doing me a favor because he is giving me both pizzas. I told him we didn’t want both, we don’t eat anchovies. He said take it anyways and then told me to shove it up my boyfriends ass then told me to never order pizza there again then told me to never come back there again. I was like ok peace out cool and walks out the door and as im going outside one of the girls working there made some comment about how oh don’t let her go out there right now? Um all over a pizza being made incorrectly? People make mistakes. I didn’t go in mad or rude or anything I just thought ok ooops. No biggie. But they obviously can’t handle making a simple mistake and have no value for customers, I mean just in the last week my boyfriend and I had eatn there several times spending over $200 so it’s not like we I don’t even know what we could have been doing, cuz we didn’t even want the other pizza.

Just very rude and immature , I will gladly never come back to this hostile ...
