Deets Sugar House — Restaurant in Oakland Township

Deets is great place to sit at a picnic table and enjoy a sub or a wedge (sp?) during the summer. Their ice cream is delicious! And their portion sizes are out of control. Be very careful what size you order or you might be liable to get a half gallon of ice cream, lol! The large portions are not just for the ice cream. Their sandwiches and sides (fries) are also very large portions. My husband who is 6' 2" only eats a half of a wedge and we share one order of fries and that is plenty. And I order a baby cone which is a normal sized ice cream cone. My only issue with Deets is their lack of a public bathroom. With little kids and older folks this can be a real dilemma. Our family has been visiting Deets sugar house for many many years and is our go to spot for a yearly visit with out of town family. Year after year we sit around the picnic tables and comment on the amazing food, ice cream and the ginormous portions of both! You cannot beat their prices either! Best wedgies and ice cream around! The atmosphere is wonderful aside from their junk hoarding neighbors (nothing they can do) and the staff is always so friendly. Food takes a little while to come but….it’s fresh and worth the wait. The prices are the cheapest I've ever seen for an ice cream place (they also sell pizza, hoagies, and specials). I got a regular sized maple sundae for about 2.50 with whipped cream and peanuts each for an additional 50c. The maple flavoring was a generous serving of fresh local Maple syrup.
