Country Catfish — Restaurant in Oakland

First off I want to start off saying don't waste your time or money on this place unless you just love to be treated like you are stupid. The hostess acted like she was pissed that we even walked through the door. This was our first and last time to ever go here but we did have a few questions when we arrived. We were given very short one word answers. They close at 9pm and we arrived at 8:20 pm on a Friday night. It is a buffet so they did not have to cook to order our food. At 8:25 pm.....5 minutes after we sat down with our first plate of food the same hostess came by telling us that if we wanted anymore food we better go get it now because they were pulling the buffet in 5 minutes. If you want to close at 8:30 put that on your door. At this point we asked for refills on our tea (which they do not have sweet tea....don't they know this is MISSISSIPPI?!) and they had already thrown it out. It was the worst customer server I have ever had in my life. The food itself was okay but if you are wanting good food and friendly faces don't bother coming here.....just go to the Catfish Hut at Enid. When we left the owner was standing at the cash register at 8:55pm counting her stacks of cash from the night. Tacky if you ask me. If I could give this place less than 1...

Always a treat going to Country Catfish! Good folks, I know the owner personally, and the waitstaff are incredible! There’s been the occasional hit-and-miss times here, but if we’re honest what restaurant hasn’t had those times? I’ve seen people complain that $20 per plate is too much, but for crying out loud, there aren’t many places left now where you can eat a good meal for less, much less an all you can eat meal. They’re only opened on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings from 4 till 9, but if you’re coming through I-55 one of those evenings, peel off at Oakland and get some good fried catfish. And by the way, if you don’t feel like you’d be able to eat your money’s worth on the buffet, they one plate options, as well as chicken plates, and...

I was really excited about this place. When I attended Ole Miss , we made a visit and it was great. This time ,however, I was very disappointed. As my husband and I were eating, a RAT ran under a table. I asked the hostess to inform the owner and asked for a refund because I lost my appetite. My husband over heard the owner tell the hostess “ I bet they still ate though but give her the refund.” So the hostess gave a partial refund (at the owners request ) since my husband had eaten most of his first and only plate at an all can eat buffet. Meanwhile the workers kept saying “it’s cold outside so the rats are going to come inside”, as if that is an excuse. The way the owner handled this situation shows he truly doesn’t care about...
