I had always passed by Loretta's on my way to work and it always was packed both inside and outside with the drive-thru line being long. Well I decided to go there for lunch to see finally what it was like. The style inside Loretta's is similar to a cafeteria. Some other local restaurant comparisons include Longstreet Cafe in Gainesville and Curt's Restaurant in Oakwood. After picking up my utensils and napkins, I got a bowl of potato salad, 3 chicken tenders, one country fried steak that was smothered in white gravy and a bowl of fried squash. I also got a cup of sprite to help wash it down.Out of all the items I got, the Country Fried Steak and the fried squash stood out the most. Both were seasoned well with the steak being tender enough to cut without a knife and gravy adding some additional flavor. The fried squash was also well battered and not overly fried. Service was also excellent with some staff members taking away my finished plates without me having to drop them off at the front. I surprisingly spent less than $15 for what I got! With the affordable prices and a seemingly loyal customer base, I can start to see how Loretta's has maintained is popularity through the years.

I don’t care what language you put this in, this is ridiculous. Especially a place that is known for elderly people coming to quite often and knowing their customers typically live off a set income and can’t afford crazy prices. I used to come here several times a week pre-Covid when my wife was pregnant(this was her cravings). I would get two trays of food, drinks and dessert and it was good price, maybe around $25-30 total. Came here today for the first time since 2020. $22.19 for this!!??? 2 small pieces of country steak, rice, mashed potatoes and a spoonful of okra and a piece of pie(that was the cheapest thing at $2 which is a good price). This same meal 3 year ago cost me probably $10 max, now it’s $22.19? Never again. Once I got to register I felt inclined to pay for it evening after seeing how it expensive it was because I already put the food in a tray. A few more dollars and I could have had a hand picked ribeye at a steak house with 2 sides and a drink, this is crazy.

Before getting [my first] job here, I had never once even heard mention of its existence. It's a unique restaurant, both as a customer and as an employee, I would say. For drive-thru customers, you have to be aware of the menu: everything is itemized. This means, there are no "combo" plates (with the exception of a free bread with an entree and side/three sides alone). This is intended to allow for customization, but can cause confusion for first-timers. Another thing is to be aware of which sides shouldn't be ordered via takeout. Anything super bulky and hard to pack or amish lightly for storage (such as our broccoli and cheese) shouldn't be ordered in drive-thru. You'll feel cheated by the single (massive, but single) stalk of broccoli for $1.89, and I'll feel guilty. If you want the broccoli for the price, please eat inside.

The other thing to note, is that, when going to the drive-thru close to closing (7-8pm, specifically 7:30-8), is the time we are most likely to have run out of certain items, be it entree, side, or dessert. This is happens when the kitchen begins clean up and can no longer make fresh batches of items which probably aren't going to even be used up all the way and therefore make a mess AND go to waste. Try to come earlier than later, if you have a very specific food order, but if you want shorter drive-thru time, this may be better since we have less people coming in and just want a quick personal meal (orders of 3+ plates will not be swift after 7:20 because drive-thru workers have to make them by hand instead of with the help of 'assembly' line). One more thing: we do unfortunately have a high rate of messed up orders, ranging from slight to pretty problematic. This happens due to factors as a) really busy days when we're trying to work faster and inadvertently get tickets confused or fail to pass a message on to someone down the line b) when training new employees who don't know how the system works yet We are aware of these issues and try our best to overcome them. Managers will check in to see how drive-thru is progressing and watch us work to make sure we're doing everything right and correct when we aren't. New employees are paired with people who understand how the job is supposed to run and who are capable of doing both their own job, and helping with another. Orders are checked twice, and when reasonable, sometimes three or four times, especially with unusual, or long orders. If you ask at the window, I check your food again, and will verify we wrote down the right order to begin with.

In the instance that we still failed to give the correct order, please let us know and we will do our...

They have the most RUDE staff I have ever had the displeasure of speaking with. I have both a 2 year old and a 6 month old, I came to eat here during lunch alone with my 2 babies. Instead of going through the line to get food since I had my hands full, I headed straight to a table to put my 2 year old and 6 month old in a high chair near the service line (so I could see them) since it was nearly impossible for me to get my food with the 2 of them in my arms. Well, as I was putting my stuff down on the table, an employee came over with someone’s tray and set it down in front of me and told me “ma’am, we aren’t allowed to save seats, but you can go sit over there.” With the most rude smirk on her face and the most unwelcoming tone. (Now does that even make sense to y’all? If it’s policy not to save seats, why would she offer me another seat?) Anyways, I get up and go ask for a manger. The manager comes out and apologizes and seems sincere at first. She offers to get our food for us and takes us to a booth. As I put my stuff down, and take a seat, an angry elderly woman comes up with her tray saying I took her seat and she was told to sit there so I look at the manager wondering what she would say, but she said nothing. She just shrugs her shoulders at me. At this point I’m just furious so I gather my belongings and my children and walk out the door in tears (with the manager standing there the entire time) and as I’m walking out, the “manager” says “I’m sorry, maybe next time”. At this moment I told myself I will NEVER eat here again and I will discourage any of my friends from eating here, as they are NOT mother/ kid friendly. I eat here AT LEAST once a week with my husband normally, but I was alone today and was treated this way. And to make it worse, I had the entire restaurant staring at me that entire time. I do not wish that sort of...
