Uncle Bill's Pancake House — Restaurant in Ocean City

So like I tell people I'm a review connoisseur basically because it's either to help a business or basically for people not to waste their time, money and their efforts going to a business. So I was looking for a breakfast place and was in the mood for eggs, Sausage, bacon, homefries, and wheat toast. I found this quaint restaurant called ( UNCLE BILL'S ) which was a really awsome place that also had a ice cream parlor called ( AUNT BETTY'S ICE CREAM ) attached to it which was cool, because you can have breakfast or lunch and right after dessert. The place was very clean and each table was set, it was beautifully designed and bright. I was greeted and provided a smile and warm welcome by ( MS. LISA / MANAGER ) and was immediatly taken to my table. In which right after I met my server ( MS. KAYLEE M. ) who provided a warm welcoming smile and genuinely friendly demeanour had immediately got to work in taking my order. My food was freshly hot and on the table under (5 minutes) and was plated very well that blew me away. She also came back and forth to check on me every few minutes to see if I was ok and needing anything which is a huge plus in my book. I was provided my check and was told If I needed anything else to please let kaylee know. The place was really tranquil and comfortable. All the bus boys, other servers & towns people were friendly and provided smiles and warm welcomings. I am truly grateful to be around people in this type of environment makes it easier and more comforting to sit there and enjoy my food, because where I am from well people are not so nice or friendly. But I wanted to thank ( MS. LISA / MANAGER, MS. KAYLEE M. , ALL THE BUSS BOYS, OTHER SERVERS & COOKS ) for a very pleasant friendly experience and awsome hot and cooked to perfection meal. I highly recommend this place and hope I have the chance to return and enjoy another meal and deal with the awsome staff. So if your ever looking for a great place, with really good food cooked to your liking and perfection with a awsome atmosphere give this place a try you won't regret it. I believe 3 stars is the perfect rating for this place as it is truly just average. I've been here multiple times over a few years, and although it is consistent, it is definately not the best place to go for breakfast. I would say, however, that it is worth a try - it's not at all terrible, just not amazing.

First of all, the prices are a little too expensive, even for being down at the beach where you expect most things to be overpriced. Drinks can shoot your bill up fast, so I suggest just drinking water. The portions are of a decent size, so they don't skimp there, however for average tasting food the prices could be lower. The service is always just okay as well. Most of the servers are fine and do their job well. Typically I don't have a problem with the servers. However, there have been times when I went up to pay that a woman taking the payments has been rude. I'm not one to judge quickly, but after it happens a few times it makes me not want to spend money there. The food typically is quite quick to come out unless they are really busy. The food is meh. The best thing they have is the stuffed french toast, as they give you a lot and it is really good! However all the breakfast staples are just normal, they don't knock your socks off. It can get really really busy in the morning, to the point where the wait is way too long to want to stay. I say go a little later for breakfast (around 12) as that's a good way to avoid the rush. Terrible experience! We have been coming to Ocean City for many, many years and have always enjoyed going to Uncle Bill's once or twice during our trip. We were excited to go this year because we had not had the chance the past two years. Unfortunately, our trip to Uncle Bill's this year was a major disappointment and will surely be our last. The service was horrendous. My husband, my toddler son and I waited 40 minutes for our food. The tables of 6+ around us (some which were seated at least 15 min after us) were served and finished by the time our food showed up. Our waitress never bothered to ask if we wanted refills or if our food was ok (which was especially irritating since she had gotten my order wrong). The food was cold and tasteless. The portions were very small and our meal cost us $46. For two adults and a toddler (which, by the way, there is no kids menu so you are forced to buy a full-sized meal and pay the outrageous price). At this point, I think Uncle Bill's is relying on their reputation to bring in customers despite their sub-par food, terrible service and astronomical prices. This experience was a disgrace and I can't wait to try out some of the competing breakfast...
