Reply: I did not feel comfortable communicating with you in person based on how I felt we were being treated. Even more so after learning we were having this type of experience from the person who owns the business.
Original post: Going out is honestly a luxury these days && I’m pretty bummed we spent $37 per person at a place where we felt like we weren’t being treated with the same level of service as other patrons and the quality of product that we received was subpar. We made reservations to celebrate a birthday but since the woman who was assisting us (who I learned later was the owner) never asked our party’s name, it was a bit awkward when she inquired when we hoped to already have this special day acknowledged. Also, I had to uncomfortably ask for a tea cup...to drink the tea when it eventually came. I arrived tardy and my friend was offered the “tea of the day” but I never was and that’s the cup they have guests use for service as well. It was a hard pill to swallow and bill to pay when you’re anticipating an experience like Aubrey Rose or Shakespeare Shoppe and paying the same price but it’s not...
Read moreI wish they'd hire an interior decorator. The ceiling is ugly, walls are ugly/messy, the supporting column for people to graffiti on is ugly, the chairs are ugly. When they spend money on decor it's tacky. I suggest they focus on improving the look of the building first though. Then upgrade the furniture to make it more cohesive. Those black and wood chairs are hideous and give me office/cafeteria vibes. Light colors dramatically improve small places. There's no room for the color black here. If you're going to decorate for holidays make sure it looks good or just don't do it at all. Also, why is there a television? Televisions in restaurants are already annoying, but it's especially annoying in places that are supposed to have tea experiences and be relaxing. I just know this place can be so much better and it's just so disappointing because I live nearby and it would be such a convenient spot to enjoy my afternoon teas. I guess I'll have to continue traveling to Los Angeles or downtown San Diego for a proper experience until they improve things. I'm...

The Bliss tea experience starts with a lovely display of test tubes filled with a dry, loose-leaf version of every available variety of tea. Once you've decided on your tea of choice, it is served to you in a gorgeous glass teapot over a tealight to keep it warm.
The salad was fresh and bright. The sandwiches and wraps were all fantastic, but my favorite was the apple and brie sandwich. Their scones are absolutely delicious, especially when paired with the clotted creme and strawberry preserves.
Carolina and the rest of the staff took the time to learn all of our names, and when they found out it was my birthday they did something which I won't spoil, but was absolutely magical.
This is a great spot to enjoy high tea, a sandwich, or a beautiful scone, all with a fun Harry Potter-esque twist! If you want tea in downtown Oceanside, this...
