I decided to try this place for the first time today. I was coming home from GR and I thought I could order online and pop in and pick it up. Super simple, right? So I was going through the pictures of the menu online and I picked out what my family wanted. While ordering, I noticed a significant price difference between their menu and online ordering. A $3-$4 difference. They had quesabirria, but there wasn't an online option, so after I placed my first order, I called the store and told them I would like to place a 2nd order and order the quesabirria. He said no problem, it would only take about 5 minutes longer. Awesome. So I get there abd go inside. There was a bartender, a waiter and a bus boy. I told the bartender I was there to pick my order up. He looks at me, then goes back to making his drink. The waiter gets up and does his stuff, but doesn't get my information or anything. I literally stand at the bar, waiting for at least 15 minutes. All whole the bartender and waiter periodically glance at me. At this point I'm over it. I ask the waiter where my order was and he gives me a bag from the table he was sitting at that had been there the entire time I had been there. I asked him where my second order was and he said he didn't have a second order. I told him that i had called and that he said it was going to only take a few minutes more. He gave me some excuse about the phone call being sent somewhere else even though it was him I talked to. He said he could get it to me in a few minutes if I still wanted it. I waited an extra 15 minutes on top of the time I already spent waiting. I get my food and I head home. I open my packages and the birria looked like street tacos. Nothing "birria" about them, only the consomƩ. I took one bite and it wasn't good. The meat was so dry and had little flavor, even drowned in consomƩ. The tiny amount of guacamole I paid $6 for was in a portion cup, and that was bland too. My chips were stale and the salsa was just like tomatoe sauce, no veggies in it. I also didn't get the sides of beans and rice that were supposed to come with the quesadilla meal. I paid over $70 (pre tip) for tiny portion sizes and mediocre food. I don't know if they were having an off night, but I don't think...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām not usually one to leave reviews but I couldnāt let this one go. I called a day ahead and requested a reservation for 11+3 kids that needed high chairs. I was told no problem our table would be ready with high chairs at 6:45pm. I arrived at 6:40pm to no table ready, the party being sat at different tables and scrambled between other guests to get the highchairs in place ourselves. Chips and salsa arrives immediately which was the one of the only good thing that happened the rest of the night. The whole party was present but we went though all the chips and salsa before anyone arrived to take our order. The order for half the party was taken and the food came out before anyone came out to take the order of the other half of the party. Once we started eating we found things were missing from orders but they did quickly make it right and bring out what was missing. The food was hit or miss on taste but mostly lacking and definitely not how it used to be. As we were eating plates were being cleared by staff before people were finished eating. No drinks refilled unless we asked more than once. And then it was assumed the whole party was paying together and put on 1 bill so it took over 20 mins to even get help from someone to split things up. It was only split 4 ways and everyone knew exactly what they ordered and after waiting to even get the help, it took another 20 to get things split correctly. $97 for 2 adults 1 kid a beer and a pop. Still tipped 15% which I felt was way beyond reasonable considering the service was poor. Overall disappointment as we came to celebrate a birthday with friends and family that doesnāt get together very often. I hope the next big party that comes through has a better experience...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe went here for lunch right at opening with a party of 6. The food was perfect and the service was exceptional. Being a Texan, Iāve eaten Mexican food from birth practically and have tried Mexican cuisine in restaurants from Florida to Arizona and up to Michigan- Los Primos is top 5 easily with the mix of service and food. Weāve been disappointed with the Mexican choices in MI so far but Los Primos did not disappoint.
The guacamole was fresh and primarily avocado rather than just lettuce and tomato. The cheese dip was rich and salty, great for putting on everything. The salsa was a great blend of fresh, garden flavors with a tiny bit of heat. The spicy burrito had the perfect balance of heat and savory. Carne asada quesadilla was amazing. We were very, very impressed. Even the picky kids cleaned their plates.
The interior was spacious and nicely decorated. The wait staff was attentive, patient and extremely kind. The kitchen was quick and accurate and our food was hot and fresh. The only shortcoming - which is beyond their control - was parking but itās well worth dealing with. We will definitely be back and if things are as good on the return trip it will be our regular spot.
