HOOKS LAKE BAR — Restaurant in Ogallala

Heard a lot about this place so my expectations were high upon coming and my expectations did not match reality. It could of been the time we came in to eat, but who knows. It was lunch time. It looked like they may of just opened when we walked in. There were 2 servers on the floor and 3 tables (including us) that walked in to eat. There was 2-3 top tables and 1-6 top. No one else entered the facility the entire time we were there. Waitress was good at grabbing drinks for multiple tables instead of serving one at a time. Then another assisted her with taking orders. Food wasn't bad and came out in a timely manner. However no one came to check on us or give us our bill. Between the 3 tables the servers stood and chit chatted with one of the tables (must of been people they knew) on and off while we waited. I ended up leaving cash on the table and walking out. Atmosphere was very dull and their shirts had some interesting quotes.. The restaurant theme to me didn't quite make sense. Bathroom walls, sink, trash can, part of toilet were Covered in dirt. I was trying to figure out if they've ever been wiped down at all. Some other areas looked like theycoukd of used attention, but who am I to say. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because lack of service after order taking...

WOW! We were In the area for a family reunion and on a Thursday night we all went to Hooks. It was a busy night, yet the ladies handled all of us just like the Pros they are. Drinks were never ending and our food was timely and amazing. We never wanted for anything. From the youngest to the eldest, our party had an enjoyable experience. The establishment is clean and prices are very fair. The bathrooms are even inviting and welcoming....

Was super excited to try this place out, heard super positive things,only when I went in they had new management and they switched from on tap beer to only canned beer. And they serve pizza. “HOOKS LAKE BAR” menu: pizza Little discouraging, if you’re going to switch up what you sell inside you should change the name so people don’t get their hopes up for old fashioned food and tap beer.
