A group of 7 big guys went to Bogeys last night. Around 7pm so pretty busy. We were seated at a six person table with on the end. It was really tight and asked for a bigger table. Request granted. Had to have been 4-5 staff converge and together put some table together for us. It was some kind of teamwork I’m telling you. We got our drink order in immediate with some apps right away. We ordered Calamari, it a fan but everyone that like calamari liked it. I was looking forward to the Honey Bourbon Fries and they didn’t disappoint. Cheese Curds we good but firm. The menu was really diverse and I don’t think we had any duplicates. I had the Blackened Chicken Cajun Pasta. It was really good. However I wish I would have gotten the Battered Fish. It looked really good. The staff was absolutely incredible. There was teamwork that is hard to find. Food and drinks coming and going and teams of people helping unload platters. From the hosts’ to the cooks Coming from Illinois, I have to say I really enjoyed this dinner. I wish I would have at least looked at the desert menu but there was no way I could have ordered anything else. Great job Bogeys.

I've eaten at Bogeys, the Lowellville location, three four times. It's a beautiful place, great for groups, taking your date, or even by yourself. Just take your seat at the bar, which is a nice spot to eat and watch one of the TVs and it's not jammed in with the dining area, real laid back bar. The dining areas are comfortable, there is seating outside on the patio. And plenty of seating inside, booths and tables. The food is great as well. Mainly Italian dishes, they also have really good burgers and a great steak hoagie. But what I'm posting about now is the food trailer that take around to all the local fests they have in the Youngstown area. They will also cater your party. The pictures I put in are from the Festival at Our Lady of Mount Carmel at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Downtown Youngstown. The food that Bogeys served was sooo great! Meatballs with sauce and ricotta, but the best was the Italian Beef with giardiniarea, on a great hoagie roll. Bogeys has this as a special occasionally so look out for it, and if they have it, get it! It is just full of flavor and you can get it wet!

Food was not good at all. We ordered the clams scampi, which was incredibly salty. I understand it comes from the sea so some saltiness is to be expected but this was like you pour the entire salt shaker on them. We also had the portobello fried mushrooms which were very greasy and dry. For our entrees we ordered Eggplant parmesan which was dry and chewy almost as if it was not cooked all the way thru. The new York strip steak which was $29(at longhorn, an actual steakhouse, it's just under $26 in boardman) so for the price I expected at least a half decent steak. Nope, all fat and grisly very chewy literally had to rip it apart. My father had the portobello burger which was the only decent thing on the menu apparently, but still not great. Had to send back both the Sierra mist and the Pepsi both were flat with too much syrup. The waitress was alright, polite but not too helpful. Didn't smile couldn't recommend anything from the menu when asked. Didn't clear any dishes off the table which we were done with. Never asked how we were, if we needed anything, if it was good. Literally had to stretch out half way into the walkway and stop her to get her attention. Quite frankly, it's horrible food and mediocre service at a premium price. Do not recommend and never again will I go here.

So this is nothing like the original when it comes to detail. My daughter ordered the fried mozzarella and the bread as you can see is severely burnt. Who sends this to the table? We asked our waitress if the kitchen could make us a sausage sandwich by cutting the link in half and placing it between two pieces of bread with greens and some provolone cheese and we were told the kitchen didnt have buns and couldnt do it. The red sauce greens and hot peppers and the Italian egg rolls were delicious, but overall our experience was not that great. We wont be back. Our waitress made the experience pleasant and we thank her for that.
