Have visited Bogey's many times and the food there is very good, its what makes me go back. The service, however, is the worst and I think that my visit this evening might be my last. We got there at 5:15 and was told there was a 20 minute wait. HOWEVER, finally being seated at 6:30 did not set well with me. No, this isn't the first time this has happened. It happens nearly every time. Our server, Lynea, was just the best. She has waited on us before and is very attentive. She arrived at our table quickly, apologized for the wait and quickly brought us our drinks and appetizers. By 6:45 our main order was taken but it took over an hour to bring the food (sandwich and a pasta dinner). She again apologized. I think that really my biggest complaint would be the hostess, or greeter, named Karen. She has got to be one of the meanest people I have every met in my life and she is like that every time we are there. Not just sometimes, but ALWAYS! If she can't handle the heat she needs to leave but I think she might be the owner's wife who can't seem to give her the boot. This isn't the first restaurant they have had and its my understanding that the last place went under due to the sour attitude of this person. I've tried to give her the benefit of the doubt every time we've gone but tonight, while being on the waiting list, she called another couple and seated them BEFORE us when they weren't even on the list!!! I guess the look on my face explained it all since the other hostess seated us very quickly after that little fiasco and apologized for the wait. So Bobby D-if you can't straight your wife's attitude up, I won't be coming back. I'll spread the word. I've had it. And by reading so many of these reviews, seems I'm not the only one. Love the food but its not worth the aggravation. Sign me...Plenty of other places to eat in this town.

Now that I've had a response, let me point out a few things. Please reread: . No, this isn't the first time this has happened. We are always misled about the waiting time and although I understand you're running the kitchen that this is out of your control, how come some things don't change? Does the owner not read these reviews? Lynea was wonderfully nice and we were not mean to her-no way-she's one of the few waitresses that is always pleasant. She waits on other tables but will take a moment to scan her other tables to make sure is all ok. That's part of what makes a good waitress. Yes, I had the BLT and when Lynea brought it, she mentioned that they were making new fries to go with it cause (her words, not mine) "they looked nasty".ITS MOSTLY THE GREETER...can't you pass that along to the owner? Out of your control? Maybe you don't want to rock the boat. Sigh. For your sake, hope that Bogey's doesn't go the way...

Wow! If you want to be barked at as soon as you walk in the door, this is the place to go! We entered and started to walk to the hostess desk only to be barked at by the hostess (using that term loosely) that she hopes we know that there is a 45 minute wait. Looking around there were a few empty tables. She said your options are to wait 45 minutes or sit at the bar. We sat at the bar only to see people that came in after us get a table in 2-3 minutes. These people were also told it would be a 45 minute wait. Apparently the hostess does not have any sense of timing. We could have had a table in 2-3 minutes. She was also telling everyone that walked in that there were too many large parties of people that came in. The one party said they were also told that from now on they would need to call ahead. (but at the same time there again were empty tables). We listened (while at the bar eating) to hear her scold every person that came in pretty much telling them that they were not welcome. She took a phone call of someone asking for reservations for 4pm (we were there about 1pm) and she told them good luck with getting seated. She actually told them that if they wanted a weekend reservation they needed to call no later than the Monday before the weekend. Wow!!!!!! Food is not that good, I guess she thinks she is working in some big fancy restaurant where people make reservations a week in advance. We have NEVER been treated like this from a hostess. But on a good note, the server at the bar was very nice and apologized for the treatment we received. We never mentioned it to her, but she obviously has ears to hear how the hostess treats people. So sad that the first person you see which is also your first impression of an establishment has to...

Was very disappointed ☹️ in our waiter Zack we were seated outside on the patio. Our table a chairs were covered with debrie that was on an outside ledge of dead bugs etc. I used my handkerchief to clean off the chairs so we could sit . When the waiter came said he would clean table. Took our drink orders . When he came back 10 minutes later with the drinks asked what we were having . Gave him our order but he didn't clean the table like he said he would My GF replaced her salad for wedding soup but was charged for it. Another person brought our soup and then our main meal . Never saw Zack again till we were done eating over 40 minutes later. Never came back to ask how our meal was or second drinks which we wanted. I spoke to supervisor and told her I was upset over the service .She offered to comp. me but I said no I ate the meal I'll pay for it , but I wasn't going to tip Zack the waiter. I checked my credit card account and low and behold Zack tipped himself. That pissed me off I'm going back today to get my $10.00 over charge Zach in my eyes is an out right THIEF.! How dare him add a tip to my credit card. And I'm a very generous tipper 20% minimum and even more if I get good service Zack needs to find other employment. Food was good to bad I'll never return and I heard there liver an onions are excellent but only serve...

Food was not good at all. We ordered the clams scampi, which was incredibly salty. I understand it comes from the sea so some saltiness is to be expected but this was like you pour the entire salt shaker on them. We also had the portobello fried mushrooms which were very greasy and dry. For our entrees we ordered Eggplant parmesan which was dry and chewy almost as if it was not cooked all the way thru. The new York strip steak which was $29(at longhorn, an actual steakhouse, it's just under $26 in boardman) so for the price I expected at least a half decent steak. Nope, all fat and grisly very chewy literally had to rip it apart. My father had the portobello burger which was the only decent thing on the menu apparently, but still not great. Had to send back both the Sierra mist and the Pepsi both were flat with too much syrup. The waitress was alright, polite but not too helpful. Didn't smile couldn't recommend anything from the menu when asked. Didn't clear any dishes off the table which we were done with. Never asked how we were, if we needed anything, if it was good. Literally had to stretch out half way into the walkway and stop her to get her attention. Quite frankly, it's horrible food and mediocre service at a premium price. Do not recommend and never again will I go here.

A group of 7 big guys went to Bogeys last night. Around 7pm so pretty busy. We were seated at a six person table with on the end. It was really tight and asked for a bigger table. Request granted. Had to have been 4-5 staff converge and together put some table together for us. It was some kind of teamwork I’m telling you. We got our drink order in immediate with some apps right away. We ordered Calamari, it a fan but everyone that like calamari liked it. I was looking forward to the Honey Bourbon Fries and they didn’t disappoint. Cheese Curds we good but firm. The menu was really diverse and I don’t think we had any duplicates. I had the Blackened Chicken Cajun Pasta. It was really good. However I wish I would have gotten the Battered Fish. It looked really good. The staff was absolutely incredible. There was teamwork that is hard to find. Food and drinks coming and going and teams of people helping unload platters. From the hosts’ to the cooks Coming from Illinois, I have to say I really enjoyed this dinner. I wish I would have at least looked at the desert menu but there was no way I could have ordered anything else. Great job Bogeys.

I've eaten at Bogeys, the Lowellville location, three four times. It's a beautiful place, great for groups, taking your date, or even by yourself. Just take your seat at the bar, which is a nice spot to eat and watch one of the TVs and it's not jammed in with the dining area, real laid back bar. The dining areas are comfortable, there is seating outside on the patio. And plenty of seating inside, booths and tables. The food is great as well. Mainly Italian dishes, they also have really good burgers and a great steak hoagie. But what I'm posting about now is the food trailer that take around to all the local fests they have in the Youngstown area. They will also cater your party. The pictures I put in are from the Festival at Our Lady of Mount Carmel at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Downtown Youngstown. The food that Bogeys served was sooo great! Meatballs with sauce and ricotta, but the best was the Italian Beef with giardiniarea, on a great hoagie roll. Bogeys has this as a special occasionally so look out for it, and if they have it, get it! It is just full of flavor and you can get it wet!
