Cardinal Dining Room & Bar — Restaurant in Ohio

This was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. My family got there at 5 to get an early dinner. There were only a handful of diners in the restaurant, but it took 55 minutes to get our food. I ordered a beer. They were out of it along with literally half of the beer list. When we finally got our food, 3/4 of the order was wrong. When we asked about it, the waitress argued with us.

On to the food. The chicken tenders were obviously a frozen product and my wife felt they had been heated in the microwave. One of the kids got the penne pasta kids meal. It came out as overlooked spaghetti. I ordered a burger with fried pickles and a chipotle mayo. It had neither. The total for our meal was over $40 and I could have gotten better food at the Dairy Queen in Glouster down the road. The waitress was totally clueless. She was confused why the kitchen sent out bbq sauce with the chicken tenders.

I ALWAYS tip at least 20%. Not tonight. I tipped 10% and that was being generous. My wife who waited tables in high school and college didn’t want me to leave a tip at all. It...

Had breakfast at Burr Oak lodge “Cardinal Resturant”. The menu looked appetizing, but the food was not. We got there around 10am. Breakfast is served until 11am which is nice. Not many people there. We ordered right off the menu, nothing special. It took over 45 minutes to get our food. I kept telling the kids it gives us more family time together, trying to stay positive!I knew it wasn’t going to be good when I spread the butter on my French toast and it didn’t melt at all. Yep- cold. My hash browns- which looked like little frozen potato chunks were barely warm. Same with my eggs. My husband’s eggs which were over easy- were hard except a very small center. His food was just barely warm as well. Sausage gravy & biscuits- barely warm. Grand daughter had an omelette. It looked really good, but again just warm😞 very disappointing since we were hungry!! So disappointed, we knew kitchen closed at 8 and served only pizza, got there well before 8 waited before someone finally mentioned to go ahead and seat yourself, my boyfriend unloaded the truck and parked and when he returned they still had not come to clean the table from the previous diners, we waited another 10 minutes when he had to go ask so we could sit, it was 7:50 and she announced that we could only order pizza. He ordered take out from an outside restaurant and left to pick it up, it is 8:22 and the waitress never returned for even water or a drink order. Atleast the view of the lake is beautiful...
