Hog Heaven BBQ — Restaurant in Ohio

DON'T DO IT. JUST DON'T DO IT. Only restaurant I've ever walked out of before my meal even came. We arrived at 6:30pm, sat ourselves at a table that hadn't been cleaned, and were waited on by a young brunette who couldn't care less. We ordered two appetizers (Hog Balls and Nachos). The Nachos were described on the menu as having black beans, tomatoes, lettuce, sour cream, salsa, and pulled pork. At 7:30pm our Hog Balls arrived. We hadn't seen our waitress one time since ordering. She dropped them on our table with no plates or silverware and said that the nachos would be out "soon". 15 minutes later she came to the table and put a plate of plain tortilla chips and a bowl of goopy cheese sauce on the table and walked away before we could object. My wife had to track her down in the restaurant to let her know that this wasn't what we ordered. She said, "that's fine, I'll fix it". 10 minutes later I tracked her down again to let her know that I wanted to close my ticket out and leave. She said "ok". The bartender overheard and tried to offer to comp our meal if we stayed, but after 1hr and 25 minutes with only a single appetizer, nothing to eat on except a dirty table, 5 empty cups at our table that had never been refilled, three tired kids, and no apology or semblance of regret from our server we were over it. The food may be good... or not, we'll never know because the restaurant and service were so dysfunctional that we never got a chance to try it. We ate at McDonald's instead. What a...

The food is still good but the service was absolutely atrocious! We were given only two menus for a table of seven. We had to ask for silverware multiple times. Half the table got something different than they ordered and two of them had to wait for that because it wasn’t ordered with everyone else’s food. Everything we asked for (drink refills, take home boxes, silverware, etc) was not brought until we asked a second or third time. She would walk away from us when we were trying to ask for something. The juke box was so loud we couldn’t have a decent conversation. This place used to be awesome but I will never go back. Yes it was busy but the place is small. I counted the number of waitresses and there were enough of them that the service could have been better. On top of it all, the waitress copped an attitude when we mentioned the lack of menus and slammed a bunch of them down on the table after we already told her we shared the menus and managed with only two. She did discount our check which helps but we usually tip at the top of the scale. She got 18% of a discounted check. It would have been better just to give decent service in the first place. Very disappointing. Was recommended to come here for wings, should have stuck to that recommendation. There was a $20 brisket special, was told 10oz of brisket and it was fall apart tender. Portion would have been lucky to be 6oz, the fork actually bent trying to pull a piece of brisket off. As an avid bbq eater, there was very little smoke flavor or seasoning and no smoke ring. It was served with sauce on it, which I am against usually, but it was OK this time because the mest didn't have moisture. Baked beans were straight from a can, probably great value brand, they didn't put any seasoning or sauce in them. The cornbread was $8 for 3 very small pieces, but those were good flavor. The 5 cheese sticks for $10 may have been the most disappointing, 2 of the 5 didn't have any cheese in them, and they were served with cocktail sauce instead of marinara, took over 5 minutes to get the actual marinara once we informed the waitress.
