I stopped in on a Wednesday for late lunch! I have been here several times and have generally been satisfied with the food. Today was a totally different experience! Some of the food was barely edible and the rest was inedible! Many people will say liver and onions are never edible, but I happen to like them and have had the dish here before! Today the liver was grossly overcooked to nearly dust! It was black and tough and the few onions accompanying were burnt! It is served with gravy over all and fortunately I ordered the gravy on the side, or this would have moved to the inedible side of the ledger! I had home fries as a side, and they had some unidentifiable taste that left them teetering on the edge inedible! My second side was cole slaw, which I considered to be a safe choice, but it topped the list of INEDIBLES! It had a unique flavor like nothing I have ever eaten intentionally before! first off it was cut coarser than any I have ever eaten in my life, so I took just one large chunk and was shocked by the taste which was more like some cleaning solution than anything from the spice rack or pantry!! I pushed it out of reach immediately! The two packages of club crackers were the stars of this meal!!!!! I spent quite a bit of time waiting for my food and during that time I watched the "1" waitress on duty doing a super-human job of covering two dining areas, seating people, taking orders, busing tables, serving food and catering to the special requests of the table adjacent to mine. When she brought my check, I very quietly told her, "my food was barely edible, and I know you are not responsible for that, and I have noticed and been impressed by your efforts, so please take this in payment for the meal and keep the change!" (around 125% tip) After leaving I regretted not telling her to tell her employer I refused to pay for the meal and just keep it all for herself! Until I hear of major changes at The Meadows Restaurant, I...
Read moreOh where to start?? We were ignored when we were told to find our own seat for maybe 10 minutes thirsty and hungry without even a menu. My girlfriend chased down a worker and they got us some menus. Another 5 to 10 go by and the waitress asked us what we wanted to drink we chose tea. We were so hungry we ordered when she brought the drinks because we didn’t know when we would see her again. We ordered a Newyork strip each, mine medium, hers medium well, she got mashed potatoes and gravy I got loaded baked potato and each got a salad. She asked for rolls to go with her meal. The salads were iceberg out of a bag and not very good she took a few bites I ate almost half. And we were hungry! About 40 minutes later our food arrived. But not the rolls. She brought with it an empty bottle of 57. My stake was kinda tough and had NO seasoning of any kind just tasted like meat. Hers was completely charred and she couldn’t cut it. But somehow pink in the middle her gravy had skin on it from being cold like it sat on the plate the 40 minutes waiting for the steak. We reminded the waitress about the rolls and showed her the empty bottle of 57 which I was now needing if I was gonna attempt to eat my steak. She brought another EMPTY BOTTLE OF 57. My potato looked gross. Didn’t even touch it. The rolls appeared after we had both lost our appetite we asked for the check left most of the food on the table spent $80 with $6 for a tip (I believe in leaving good tips so that felt awkward) and walked out with our food sitting on the table. Pic taken on way out the door. It was a miserable experience. What a very sad situation for...
Read moreWe called ahead to reserve the back room for 30+ people after a graduation. The woman on the phone was so rude. She said "just don't expect to get your food all at the same time". Ok so we get there and get seated. The waitress was very nice(Missi) took our drink orders. I went to the bar to order a few mixed drinks. After standing at the bar for 10 minutes the bartender (owner) was so rude and told me it was going be a while because he was so far behind. So after another 10 minutes standing there the other woman(owner) came up and he told her I wanted a few simple drinks made(had the mix pulled up on my phone) she rudely said she didn't have time for that and walked away. What a B. So I went back and told my 30+ guests that this place didn't have time to make us 4 drinks and they were so rude. We all left and went to Los Mariachis instead and had a wonderful time there as always. And while I was at the bar at Meadows waiting on drinks I asked where a certain waitress was (that we have all the time)and the owner started talking trash about her to me.. How unprofessional. We will never return to this...
