I'm wildly speculating here, but Mel's is quite likely the proverbial oasis that Garth Brooks wanted to slip on down to. Moreover, there's an abundance of friends lounging at Mel's quaint tavern and outdoor veranda, but this ain't no low place, boy howdy.

I have an idea the crowd is a one of kind! The people were really outgoing and I only wish I could have stayed to sing a few more kareokes! Things didn't go as planned, though I had a safe ride home, a very nice couple from Chauncey I believe, and had a chance to hear a gentleman sing that I hadn't heard in awhile now, ( he has gotten better!)
