Pete's Ice Cream — Restaurant in Ohio

As someone who loves flavorful foods, the four years I lived in Ohio were some of the blandest years of my life. I had covid 6 times and was only aware of half the times because I couldn't tell when I lost my sense of taste and smell since the food was so mediocre...this makes it a twisted irony that Pete's Ice Cream, some of the best ice cream I have ever had out of the NUMEROUS places I have tried around the country, exists here. It was the ONLY food in Ohio I looked forward to and am sad I will likely never have again because I have no desire to ever return to Ohio for the aforementioned reasons. Even their traditional hotdogs and other savory foods were good. This place is the definition of "a diamond in the rough" to the point I believe the original location is in that giant sand tiger cave thing in the Disney cartoon...

We had never visited this business before and just happened upon it. We ordered 2 walking tacos, a regular hot dog, and a 1/4 lb coney dog. The regular hot dog was the only thing that tasted decent. The coney dog didn't have cheese or onion, and the coney sauce tasted like ketchup & mustard mixed with the taco meat. We also ordered a chocolate shake, a reverse buckeye shake, a cookie dough shake and a pb shake. We had to return the pb & cookie dough shakes because they tasted spoiled. In exchange, we got another chocolate shake and a strawberry shake, only for them to taste weird, too. Never again would I eat here, and I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone. We absolutely love Pete's! I don't know where they get their ice cream from but it is seriously some of the best I've ever had. The list of flavors is enormous! I seriously think they probably have over 40 different flavors is ice cream. To go along with that, my favorite style is the waffle cone. But, you can get a regular cone or in a bowl too. Their version of a DQ blizzard is better than the Queens.... Sorry not sorry, but it is. They have hot foods that are delicious too.
