Sonora Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Ohio

Stopped in to try this Sonoras location and try the Ponder House Cheesecake. We went with the Pina Alambre, which is hit or miss at the Portsmouth location, and the elote. Unfortunately, our elote never came, but fortunately we weren't charged for it. The pina alambre (with the sides of beans, rice, lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream) were easily shared between 2 people and could probably feed three. Nothing great about it, just something different than the typical fare.

Parking is somewhat limited but a few more spots than the Portsmouth location. If you or someone in your party isn't a fan of loud noises then this location probably isn't for you. We had at least three trains pass while dining, and with the tracks being immediately adjacent to the building it could be an issue for some folks. The service was okay, not great, not bad, just okay. No refills on the water, the missed order of the elote, and we had to get our own dessert from the fridge, and flatware from the cart. The positive was that after we were seated beneath a speaker the music was turned down, or at least it seemed to be; it could have just seemed lower after the first train went through.

All in all, we wouldn't go out of our way to eat here again, but would probably stop here if traveling and had to choose between Wendy's, the gas...

Let me begin with it's hard to find authentic mexican in the Midwest, I was definitely beyond impressed with the street tacos I ordered I hadn't had anything with such taste and flavor since living on the westcoast.

Service was attentive to a intermediate level, I was the only customer. My chips and salsa was out right away, followed by my order being taken promptly. I didn't have to wait for drink refills at all that's a huge thing for me as a dine in customer. The only thing I can say seemed to be a bit of a miss is the waitress seems to be young little distracted when it came to seeing if I would want dessert.

All that being said I will absolutely be back here to eat and get a real feel for there dinner hours, looking forward to making this my spot to eat everything time I come...

Well this place was pretty good! But now they are rude. Tell u be there in 15min for ur food . You get there in 8min and your food is ice cold. Then u complain they BLAMED me for being late on picking my order up! For real 8min from 15min do the math I still had 7min before I was even to be there. And you had my food bagged and ready! I call to complain and ur going to replace my order then tell me your not going to be cause I simply told you it was not my fault..

STOP SENDING ALREADY DONE FOOD FROM PORTSMOUTH SONORA TO LUCASVILLES FOR THEM TO JUST HEAT UP.. MAKE THEM ACTUALLY COOK THE FOOD IT MAY ACTUALLY BE COLD THEN! what a RIP off 30$...
