Nothing good to say besides thanks for trying? Mother’s Day Brunch? More like we will be looking for other food once we leave. They “replenished” the salads and fruit by putting what was already being served into smaller “clean” dishes to then be set out for guests. That’s just re-plating. We payed $38 a person to be welcomed to the buffet with dirty plates (I mean you can’t polish them? With all those girls standing at the host stand?) as I watched that happen, I decided to not go for the cold bar food. Moving onto the shrimp….. there were only tails while me and 10 other people stood in line looking at the pile of ice and tails. The only thing that was slightly warm were the mashed potatoes. Everything was sitting out, uncovered, with people “ready to serve” but they just pushed food closer to you as you grabbed it. Not to mention the people “hand carving” the meat acted like it was coming out of their paychecks with how much they gave us at a time. That too was as cold as deli meat, and I really enjoyed the parts of fat that were served to me that I had to spit out in my napkin. When we mentioned to the manager about our experience he simply said “no one else has said anything” and they charged us for an extra person and a child who was supposed to eat for free. They corrected this charge, didn’t comp us anything for our food being absolutely below room temperature. But when we said something about the temperature of their food. They went around and changed the serving method of the foods by adding covers and ensuring their flames were going underneath. I really should’ve taken pictures because I was honestly in shock that anyone was willing to pay for something like that. I have worked in the service industry for my whole life and that was the worst thing I have ever done with my time, especially on a holiday. $350 for our family. But I guess if you can trick people into paying for convenience 🤷🏼♂️ more...
Read moreI came to eat at the restaurant for breakfast. It wasn't overly busy but there were a few tables with other patrons. The host was pretty slow at sitting people and then it was almost five minutes or more before a waitress came over. I ordered coffee, wish they had flavored creamer but did not get any spoon to stir my coffee until I asked for one. When I ordered the Water's Edge which comes with two eggs off my choice, bacon or sausage, hash browns and toast. I ordered fried hard eggs, and a pancake on the side. She did not ask what kind of meat I wanted and I honestly forgot about it when placing my order. It took a little longer than I would think but it wasn't terrible wait. During my wait, she didn't come back to refill my coffee until my food came and then I had to ask for a refill. When my food came, I was given scrambled eggs, which ok I'm ok with those too but not what I asked for. They weren't very hot, warm to say the best. I then realized I had no ketchup, did not get my sausage because hey it wasn't ordered, dry toast with no butter or jelly. The pancake did not have butter either. So I had to stop another waitress to ask for my waitress because I didn't know how long it would be before I saw her again. When my waitress came back she brought me my sausage which again was hardly warm. I did get my jelly and ketchup but no butter. The food was just okay. Nothing to rave about. My view was absolutely beautiful while I ate so that was a plus but the overall food and the attention to the small detail needs a little help. As a previous waitress I have a hard time when I have to ask for everything when some of it should be offered or just brought to the table...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at Waters Edge in Maumee Bay State Park Lodge Centre for two days, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with friendly smiles and a warm atmosphere.
During our first day, we decided to have lunch at Waters Edge and it exceeded all expectations. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was top-notch. I was impressed by the attention to detail and the genuine care the staff showed towards their guests. The prices were reasonable and definitely worth it for the quality of the food and service.
The following day, we indulged in the breakfast buffet, and it was a true delight. The wide selection of fruits, pancakes, and comfort food catered to all tastes, even the pickiest eaters in our group were satisfied. Not to mention, the breathtaking view from Waters Edge made our dining experience even more memorable.
I highly recommend Waters Edge for both off-season visits and hotter days. It offers a fantastic escape from the cold weather, providing something fun to do while enjoying a magnificent meal.
