This is a very popular lunch spot, and it's ok to park in the next lot South. Mary at the counter seaks English and Spanish fluently. All types of transactions are welcome. People call in to go orders, but mostly they come in to order. The menu has clear photos, but is absent prices. The woman before me bought 2 orders of nachos and 6 tacos of any of more than 8 types of meat, plus nopales... Cactus paddles! My food was ready within a very reasonable time frame and although it was to go, was served wrapped individually but on a plate. I love their fresh tortillas, and saw many people order extra or change orders so, instead of just rice they ask for the Plato typico. There's all kinds of funny little statues in the entry and the line was long but not out the door because of the very good food here. I got two shredded beef tacos barbacoa, which is shredded baked eye of round, and served with cilantro and very fresh chopped onion on corn tortillas. They came with a fried serrano pepper and a salsa of tomatoes and onion and I am guessing jalapeno. This salsa is orange but it's unlikely it was habanero pepper. There was one quarter of a very fresh lime. I ate mine differently with different bites. I ate mine at home and cleaned my plate with thick slices of cotija cheese😉. So this is a condiment cheese that is white and dense, and some people compare it to parmesan cheese but I would disagree. This cheese whole in rounds is hard to find even at the local Latin market up the street, El Patron. I easily can recommend this place and want to make sure I try the sandwiches, Gorditas and the tortas. The menu is about 18 basic items, but by the time you consider the filling options there's well over 60 things to choose from. They are attended with @DoorDash and could easily manage to cater an office party of family affair at an affordable price. Ask Mary and she will explain the menu, making sure your order is right and taking time to...
Read moreThey only give you 1 sauce per 3 tacos , so if you order 8 tacos, you get 2 tiny sauces. If you order 8 tacos and a side of rice, they will still only give you 2 sauces; otherwise you have to pay $1 extra per sauce. I use to consistently visit here, but I don't anymore because of this. I don't like to eat dry rice and dry tacos. The AC doesn't work very good in this restaurant in the summer.
If you eat here, their chicken fajita meat tacos taste better than the steak. By default, they give you red sauce for their tacos( you should refuse their red sauce because it's too spicy and then have them substitute the red sauce for their green sauce. The green sauce is much less spicy). As of Feb 2023, their tacos are $2.50 each. You can get Tacos for less at other local...
Read moreThis place has great fresh standards and locals love it. They need to remark their prices so you can browse and buy what you want more easily. These are hard to see on the wall because they have faded and though most people just order stuff they know, they might order more and spend more if they knew price points for the listed items. Mary at the counter speaks both English and Spanish and maybe some other dialects. She is happy to help, and repeats your order back to you so you know what you ordered. They have solo items and typical platters with beans and rice. They didn't have 🧀 cheese on an order I thought it was included on, but I didn't think to say add it. Maybe we expect cheese and it's not served on all stuff we...
