Let's start off when we got there. I asked the waitress how she was doing(she didn't introduce herself so I don't know her name) and got the response "I'm working today so....". No smile, no joke, no anything. Fast forward, she came back a couple of times to see if we were ready to order. It was our first time being there so we were still looking. We get our order in and I got a dinner plate which included a salad. I asked if cheese came on the salad, which it does not, so I asked for cheese. I eat my salad dry but they still put the dish on there that the dressing would come in. The dish was dirty! Thankfully the plate that the salad came on looked clean. So as we are waiting, I'm looking around the restaurant. It did look clean but not busy. I think there was about 4-5 other tables with 2 waitresses. We were not checked on between the salad and our main course. They did get our food correct but we also had simple orders. We were also supposed to get bread with our dinners but I could not get our waitress attention so I had to walk up to them and ask for it. The other waitress brought it out. Not once were we checked on after this. The white gravy was disgusting. It tasted old and slimy and had a yellow tint to it. My husband's chicken fried steak and the same white gravy on it and he said it was just warm. The bread was cold. The service was colder. We got our ticket and not only did they charge extra for that gravy for me to dip my chicken into, they also charged $1.99 for that small cup of cheese to put on the salad. I informed the other waitress about the gravy when we went to pay our bill in which she immediately started asking the cook about it. I couldn't really hear what the response was but our waitress finally popped her head around the corner and asked/confirm with me about the gravy. I can understand if someone is having a bad day and not wanting to be at work, but if the whole first experience will be like that, I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFOOD WAS A DISGRACE, OVER PRICED, FILTHY RESTAURANT! WAITED 30 MINUTES FOR BREAKFAST......... Ordered 2 western omelettes, came with 2 ingredients, then the owner made a excuse why they didn't have the ingredients. Which they were well aware of before our orders and still charged for the full price of the omelettes. Why didn't they just put sold out on the menu or why couldn't they let us know they didn't have ingredients before the order? 25 dollars is not worth a 2 egg 2 ingredient omelettes. THE OWNER DIDN'T MAKE IT RIGHT. Big Red's is not what it used to be. The food was bland, hash browns didn't have no seasonings, the biscuits were hard, and the gravy had no flavor. TAKE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY and TIME ELSE WHERE! Being locals, it's worth the drive to Tahlequah for better quality, better tasting and more affordable food. We feel completely ripped off!š Respond to comment: That is a lie!! Like I stated, you did NOT make it right. Cheese, red onions and ham is not worth the full price of a Western omelet! Why are you still making excuses? We were not aware that YOU didn't have ingredients! Take some pride in your restaurant! People like this are compulsive liers!!! You had our business until NOW! Hire experienced cooks and get some professional cleaners in your facility! I don't know how osha hasn't closed down...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMenus are misleading. If you look at the linebacker burger. The menu makes it look like a bacon cheeseburger but if you order it you will be disappointed. The waitress stated that the picture on the menu of the linebacker burger always confuses guest because the picture is in direct line with the bacon cheeseburger. After we got our food.. But what the waitress didnāt inform us of is that you pay $9/10 for a burger you get no fries. Thatās an extra charge. The Pattieās are hard once cooked and you can tell they are frozen before cooked obviously. No handmade patty at this place. We didnāt have to eat here no. That is true. But as a weekend getaway we wanted something local. But if this is the local experience then Iāll continue to get my money to fast food chains. Family owned restaurants are what make vacations or weekend getaways. IF they have pride in the business. I was severely let down by Big Reds and they wonāt have to worry about us. We will not be back. Hopefully the owner will look into these concerns and turn the restaurant around. Maybe someone will have a...
