Bad experience! Rude waitress, took our order and we never saw her again. People came in after we did and got thier orders and left, we still didn't get our food. They gave my son a pepsi and me water. We sat an hour and then said, that's it! I didn't just leave, I paid for the Pepsi, but said, you didn't give us food so not paying for that! No apology just a bad attitude from the woman up front. When I asked how much, she snapped at me she was looking, like she thought being extra rude was making this situation better. The young man behind the counter quietly said, he was so sorry, I just said, we won't be back, and the rude woman came back, apparently our food just now appeared miraculously and asked if we still wanted it. I was halfway out the door and I just said bye. When I questioned the waitress, she said the cooks did the best they could. Did not eat the eggs. At the register, asked the cashier (my waitress) to remove the eggs from the ticket. Initially she balked at removing them, then finally removed them off the ticket. Her excuse (this time) was that the grill had one temperature setting, and it could not be changed. I personally have been a short order cook, and know that there are hot and cooler portions on that grill. I don't think their grill is any different. I actually doubt that she ever conveyed the message of "don't burn or scorch the eggs"...
Read moreThis is one of the best country dining places in the U.S., at a small, barely noticeable truck stop just south of the Kansas border. The food is outstanding and all is made from scratch. Their homemade pies are out of this world delicious; the coconut pie is the best I have ever had. The service is friendly and helpful, and the prices are great. We bought pies for Thanksgiving that would have cost $40-$50 each in our city, but cost $17.50-19.50 there. On Saturday night you can get a large portion of tender prime rib with sides for less than $20. Their onion rings are the best ever. I wish we lived closer to it, but it is worth a long drive. If you are ever on Hwy. 75 you owe it to...
