A group of five ate at I Don’t Care last night and did not have a good experience. Our group ordered appetizers, nonalcoholic drinks, a beer, 4 of us ordered the steak fingers and one ordered a steak and 4 in the group ordered dessert. Let me start with the food. The appetizers were delicious and the steak fingers were really good. The person that ordered the steak said it was tough but also acknowledged we weren’t at a steakhouse so didn’t expect a lot. The desserts were good also (cheesecake and chocolate cake). The service: our waitress was nice. We told her from the beginning that we were on two tickets and showed her who was on what ticket. Our waitress brought the desserts out and then brought tickets. The tickets were messed up. Between the two tickets, items were on the wrong ticket, both ways. We didn’t make anything of it. We just paid and settled it amongst ourselves. The waitress brought our tickets back to be signed and we all tipped her well. Now here is the issue…about five minutes later, a lady, who I believe may have been a manager, came to us and asked if we needed anything else because she needed the table for a group that was waiting. If they were busy, we totally would have understood but there were several empty tables and several by each other that could have been pushed together to accommodate the group of 5 or 6 people that were waiting. There was nobody else waiting to be seated. I have worked in the restaurant business in my younger days and there has never been a time that it was ok to ask a table to leave so that another can be seated, even when busy (which they were not). It’s not like this restaurant is near much. You obviously have to make a drive just to go. Our group, that lives over an hour apart from each other, chose this restaurant to meet in the middle. NEVER AGAIN! It was our second time to eat there and our last time to eat there. It’s a shame because the food was good. In all my years, I can say that I have never been kicked out of a restaurant,...
Read moreUpdate 1/26/24 It is a bar and grill not a Mexican restaurant or BBQ joint. Stick with the bar type food; burgers, salads, chicken (chicken sandwiches, strips, salads), and only on Fridays, the catfish. That was the plan for today. My wife wanted a salad after the disastrous Mexican food we had in Shawnee yesterday. Catfish Friday for me. The fried chicken salad has always been good. The restaurant makes a decent salad. Even the small side salad that I had is good. Filled with a variety of chopped vegetables topped with croutons and a little cheese. The fried chicken salad has a big chicken breast with chopped eggs. The fresh tasting catfish had a nice crisp coating. The fried okra, typical.
Previous review 2/24/23** Yes, it is a bar and grill. Meaning they specialize in alcoholic beverages, fried stuff and burgers. They do offer a variety of items on the menu in an attempt to appease any craving, such as Mexican food. But check the name again. It is “I Don’t Care Bar and Grill. The sign does not say I Don’t Care “Mexican” Bar and Grill. Spare us. Don’t choose the Mexican food and then share your perceptive revelation that the food is “Not Authentic Mexican food” especially, if your credentials are limited to “I know because I am from CA.” Thank you, we’ll figure it out. Hop back in your Tesla and mosey along.
My wife and I have been enjoying meals at I Don’t Care Bar and Grill for several years now. Our selection from the menu is limited. Just like the excellent service, we have never been disappointed in these meals. My favorite the Kickin Chicken Sandwich. My wife’s favorite the Chicken Salad. We have always had good luck with the Fried Catfish Dinner. It is available all week, but only get it on Fridays at lunch time. And the Mac Daddy Burger is darn hard to beat. That’s it. I stand behind my recommendation.

Read moreKind of overpriced for the amount of food on the plate. We got 3 chicken fried steaks which was one of the specials for $12.99. It came with 2 sides. We got salad as 1 side they were really good. Mixed lettuce with carrot, cucumber, cheese, tomato, croutons & dressing. The chicken fry was ok but small (about the size of the frozen kind at Walmart but it did taste better than the frozen kind at Walmart). The mashed potatoes & gravy were in small bowls on the plates, also a small amount. Looked more like a light plate than a dinner special. My husband got a baked potato loaded (they didn't put butter on it). I've gotten bigger chicken fry at other places just as good ranging from $6.99 to $9.99. I've ordered the same meal at I Don't Care in Muskogee and it looked & tasted like an entirely different meal. Our waitress was nice but was apparently in a hurry to finish her shift & leave. She came by to grab the empty salad plates but didn't offer any drink refills until after she brought our food & we asked for refills & butter for the ”loaded" baked potato. We had to ask for every refill & a few times from other waitresses because ours was no where in sight. She didn't ask if we wanted desert just brought the ticket with the butter & refills then asked us like 4 times (while we were still eating) if she could take care of it for us. She then apologized but told us she was trying to clear her tables because her shift was almost over & she didn't want to leave tickets on her tables. I'm not sure I've ever had a waitress tell me she was leaving & I need to go ahead & pay so she could. This was all a good 2 hours BEFORE the restaurant closes so I'm not sure why someone else couldn't take care of it for her since she was in such a hurry. All in all would I or will I go back? If I'm already by there yes maybe but I actually live in between this restaurant & the one in Muskogee so I would probably choose the I Don't Care Bar & Grille in Muskogee. Food & service is...
