Food photo at hotel.
I got out late for work and was looking for a a place where some really good food to eat. I'm out of town and don't know any good spots. I stopped in and asked for the hours and told that I could still order 20 minutes to close so I decided to get something to go so I wouldn't have to be bothering them in their lobby if I took longer to eat.
It was a $50 ticket with the tip, which I definitely regret giving.
I get my food, I leave, I finally get back to my hotel and I didn't get all of my order there's just empty spots in my food container where there should be my sides.
I'd like to believe the meat was good, but I couldn't get over the disappointment of missing food that I ordered, and paid for, and tipped over. Like I was just stolen from.
I did try to call back and it went straight to voicemail as it was 20 minutes after close. Not surprising .
It's my mistake for thinking that the i wouldn't have to check that everything i ordered was there before calling my name for the order. He wasn't working while i saw everyone else doing so and instead just going around to ask others how the food was. I just assumed (yes, again) that was the owner/manager packing my food and i wouldn't have to check. I got to break myself of that old mindset thinking managers know how to do the employee's jobs.
So... I'm going to assume that I'm not going to get this issue fixed. Here's a one-star review letting everyone know to check their food before they leave when ordering to-go.
Edit after Owner's reply: Added photos after reply of owner's reply and my personal disdain.
I guess saying because the owner did it means it's automatically right, but but let's not look at the picture showing the gaping hole where my okra is supposed to be. And the claim they have it on camera. Is having him on camera showing how he removed the okra from the styrofoam container? It sure wasn't him replacing it with anything else. Or am i incorrect with the impression the plates came with two sides? I assumed that that was what the person behind the counter told me.
Yes they offered me to "show up tomorrow and go over the order with me free of charge". But I guess that means I don't eat what I have here and just go without food until I can get there again tomorrow after work at 6:00 p.m.?
9:37pm and I still haven't eaten it. I I didn't enjoy being told to bring it in and we'll check it with what feels like a "funny hahaha how he would do that since he ate it already" with the snarky throwing in the "free of charge" comment that makes me believe that you normally charge people to check their orders for accuracy and not give them receipts to top it off so they can't prove what they bought initially anyway?
I genuinely heard Stillwater was a great place, and to work even. After this, I don't think I've been lied to on a...
Read moreFrom the moment I stepped into the smokehouse, I knew I was in for a treat. The aroma of smoked meats filled the air, setting the stage for what would be an unforgettable culinary journey. I had the pleasure of trying a variety of dishes, each more delicious than the last.
The sliced brisket and chopped brisket were highlights, showcasing the art of smoking meat to perfection. Each bite was tender, flavorful, and melted in my mouth, testament to the hours of careful cooking and the use of quality cuts of meat. The smoked prime rib was another standout, with its rich, succulent flavor and perfectly cooked texture making it a dish I would eagerly return for.
The sides were no afterthought, complementing the meats with their own bursts of flavor. The mac & cheese was creamy and comforting, the fries were crispy and well-seasoned, and the smoked wings added a delightful kick. But it was the creamy corn that truly stole my heart, with its smooth texture and sweet taste that balanced the smokiness of the meats perfectly.
What sets this smokehouse apart is not just the quality of the food but the passion evident in every dish served. It’s clear that there’s a dedication to the craft of smoking meats, a respect for ingredients, and a desire to provide an exceptional dining experience. The ambiance of the place, warm and welcoming, made the meal all the more enjoyable.
In conclusion, my visit to the smokehouse was nothing short of spectacular. Every dish was a testament to the culinary skills of the chefs and the care put into each recipe. For anyone looking for authentic, mouth-watering smoked meats and delightful sides, this is a destination worth seeking out. It’s not just a meal; it’s an experience that delights the senses and leaves you...
Read moreCame in for fathers day dinner with my brothers and dad. Service was decent. I ordered a 3 meat plate. Got brisket, ribs and burnt ends. I asked specifically for point cuts on the brisket and was informed that I cant request I just get what is sliced. Meats were room temp. The brisket (flat) had a bitter taste, no bark and was dry. The burnt ends needed water to get down and were not good at all. I had 2 pieces just to make sure they were as bad as I thought. The ribs were good flavored but a little dry. To be fair, ive smoked my own meat for a while and lived the last 10+ years in texas and I do have very high standards for bbq but this felt like chain resteraunt bbq more than an independent owner. The sides were mediocre. The prices arent horrible but I did expect better quality for spending 100 dollars. The atmosphere and layout had a very small town bbq feel to it which was great. Id say cleaner smoke, serve it hot, let customers choose what cuts of the meat they want and it would be good, if not great. Ill give it one more shot before I offer to show up, share part of my rub recipe and tend a fire for a day (kidding ill never give up my rub recipe). I will add that I tried my son's sausage and it was good and my brother said the smoke chicken...
