I had one of the specials of the advertise for the chicken I believe it was the Jessica special it was delicious it had onions and bell peppers in it chicken and I was able to add shrimp for a reasonable fee I believe it was 399 I would rate this place a 10 out of 10 if I was able to do that I'm getting it five stars for food service and atmosphere because it did feel authentic to what it was which is a Mexican restaurant the waiters were predominantly Hispanic which I have no problem with I understood what they were speaking and I understood what they were asking and when I asked for a refill on my Coca-Cola they brought it to me quickly and I asked for a piece of lemon on my Coke so I could tell it different than the other Coca-Cola that was on my table for one of my friends they obliged me and put a piece of lemon on the glass so we could tell the difference this made it incredibly good to me my food of my drinks were fresh and delicious I will be going to this restaurant again and very well may have my birthday...

I haven't eaten here in so long but decided to go and dine in. Wow. I was treated so rudely right off the bat by my server. He looked at me like hatefully when I ordered my drink. I even overlooked him throwing my salsa on the table. He came back with my drink and I put in my order. He snatches the menu and says nothing. Just turns and huffs away. I don't speak lightly when I say he slammed the menu down back in the stack of menus on the way to the kitchen. That's when I had enough and decided I would leave. This man clearly did not want to serve me for whatever reason. The worst part is I got to see a wonderful server doing his thing at tables near me, while being stuck with the hateful one. This leads to very different experiences all at the same restaurant! I let the host know I was leaving and that host is the reason I bumped this place up to 2 stars. I guess the server got what he wanted. I left so he wouldn't have...

This restaurant has always been my favorite in Okmulgee. I absolutely love both Mexican restaurants in town though. I would say El Tapatio is maybe a little bit more expensive to go to than El Charro's, but they also offer you another variety especially of seafood than they would at El Charro's. So it's 100% worth it! The staff have always been friendly there's never been a time I've went in there and ever had a problem. I also love the fact that you are able to sit outside because I do smoke. Plus I always just enjoy that more anyways. You also never have to wait a very long time before your food comes out. That's on top of it being hot and freshly cooked. So I give El tapatio's an A++ or a 10/10. Also at the bottom of this I'm not exactly sure if they have curbside pickup but if you have your food called in they would always have it ready sitting by the front door on the counter behind...

Been coming here for YEARS! However tonight was a terrible experience and I’m heartbroken! I recently got a service dog due to a terrible on the job accident. The staff was rude to us and completely inhospitable! I’m sure they just didn’t get the whole service dog thing. However, I had his paperwork with me and info cards, but neither the staff or management cared enough to take a moment for some education concerning the Federal Laws concerning service animals. Instead they chose to be rude, hateful and inhospitable! I ended up leaving and going down the road to another restaurant that never has a problem with me coming in with my service dog. It’s going to be a long time before I come back! …. Which is a shame after being a loyal customer for years! El Taps…. You have left me sad and heartbroken!

El Tapatio is a casual place for Mexican food in Okmulgee. They are located just off Highway 75 and have a fair-sized indoor seating area, very friendly and timely service. We shared an order of Nachos Tapitio here recently that was decent. Was served a large plate of chips topped with shredded chicken, minced beef, beans, onions, chopped lettuce, thick cut tomatoes and a fair amount of melted and cold shredded cheese. Chips mostly broke under the weight of the toppings so we had to eat with a fork. Overall, this was a decent nacho order, not great but not bad either.

I'd do 4.5 if I could, but definitely deserves rounding up > down. Stopped in for lunch on a long road trip. Beware the large margarita. It's great, but it's LARGE! Sadly couldn't finish due to the drive ahead. I had the lunch special no. 1 and nothing to critique there. Salsa for the free chips and salsa was pretty mild, but the bottles of tapatio and el yucateco at the table make for an easy solve. Other than ordering more margarita than I could handle, no regrets.
