Read moreOK, just to address some of the previous concerns, since this is one of the best pubs in eastern Pa. They are CASH ONLY. If you know anything about credit and debit you would know that retailers are charged $2 per transaction and most restaurants take that out of the tip which is inherently put on the card as well. So either they make YOU pay cash and NOBODY loses or you pay credit and your server loses. The house never loses and there is an atm which charges you that $2 if you forgot the cash! If you were a small business, you would do everything possible to keep costs down.
The food is excellent. This is nothing like a Mickey D's or BK. Further if you are expecting fine dining or NYC cuisine then yes, you will be disappointed and the rest of us don't want you here at our local watering hole. If you are looking for great pub grub in a fun friendly atmosphere then this is the place be. Been coming to Union Jack's for 10 years and always had to have a reservation due to business. Apparently they're doing something right!
As stated above, this is an English Style PUB, you know, a BAR with 100 or more different beers and food like fries and burgers and ribs and Bangers & Mash and hot wings, etc. This is NOT a restaurant!!! So all you families with little children please take note; Your kids will NOT like the fare here. It's not that the staff won't do what they can however, I haven't been to many Pubs that offer milk as a drink option, so I wouldn't give them a bad review because Union Jack's didn't have it. Just sayin'.
All in all, the Inn on the Manatawny UJ's is a great place to come and unwind. The summer music program is awesome and the patio is like those you would find in europe. It is our family's favorite place to go. Even my In-laws who are rarely happy anywhere in the US and are from Europe find this to be the classiest place this side of the Mississippi. Seriously, if you want status quo go to Appleby's. If you want fun, friendly and unique come join us. ...
Read moreWell here we go again. This is such a wonderful nice place. Inside and outside, beautiful deck, small outside bar with an adjacent stream, normally parking is no issue, however with a band playing parking became an issue, more because people parked in the entrance and kept blcking other cars. While the guy accross the street charged $5 for his grass parking. So back the the Restaurant, the beer selection is nice, however there was no printed beer list version available so scanning in the QR code and open the app. Even tgey do have free wifi, with having a huge crowd the internet was very slow and cell signal is about 1 bar at AT&T and T-Mobile. The service was great, even they where extreme busy. Now the food was disappionting this time. The con fritrers where greasy and making them flat vs traditional round was like eating of a sponge. 1st bite and pushing down you could see the grease dripping. The Salmon on Salat was very good and tasteful, tge Salmon was nicely seared, good in flavor and just cooked right, while the salad was fresh and crisp, very nice dish. Than there was the honey bbq chicken breast with cheddar potatoes and veggies...well this dish was 1st 3 degrees warmer than an ice cream. The chicken breast, 3 peaces, where flat and so overcooked that I could have used them as soles for my shoes. The broc was steamed, cold, no flavor at all. The cheaddar mashed potatoes where cold and not seasoned. The honey bbq sauce was good in taste, however could have been more, overall the portion was good, well there was a lot of food. The Peanut Pie was really good, i just wish, that Restaurants would use real wipped cream instead of...
