I know, trust me I know. This is a long way to go to eat anything. There is also nothing to do out this way, for most people. If you live in the area you probably won't mind it. Olton, Tx is not a tourist destination, unless you want to go to Littlefield, Tx and visit Waylon Jennings home town. His brother runs the liquor store and has a Waylon gift shop. I didn't know that until after I left Littlefield. I digress. The bbq at Rejino is worth the trip. Brisket is flavorful and tender and moist. Pork ribs are tender and bone chewing good. Sausage tasted homemade, but not sure if it is. Macaroni salad tastes like your momma's. The cucumber and tomato salad was out of the garden fresh. Owner came out and talked to us and took our picture, because we were the first customers of the day. Take two days and go visit...

Rejinos Barbeque was just awarded the number 17 spot in the best of the best of BBQ In the whole State of Texas. Olton, TX is a short drive from Lubbock, Tx. The environment is so cozy, friendly and very much relaxing. Each order placed is plated in its unique form and the flavors combine perfectly with each other. With Rejino making the top 100 of Texas then taking number 17 in the top 50 is a very good accomplishment for this team. I personally have tried some of the other spots that took closer numbers to the number 1 spot and I believe Rejino should have been much closer to a number 1 spot. Give this team some time and in time I see them getting much closer to the championship soon in Texas. These guys make our West Texas...

Our group of four arrived shortly before opening. There was plenty of parking and no line. I had a Texas Trinity Platter, which I thought was very fairly priced in today's barbecue world.

The brisket and Peach Whiskey pork belly burnt ends were excellent! The pork ribs and jalapeño cheddar jack were very good also. The beans were good, and Green Chile Cream Corn was very good!

As for desert, you won't go wrong with either the banana pudding or the Oscar's Delight.

Getting to Rejino's required a long drive, but the staff were very nice, the restaurant was very clean, and the food was excellent! I've been to 46 of the current Texas Monthly Top 50 Barbecue Joints, and this was one...
