Disappointed Again
Readers please be aware the restaurant at this time was very slow only 4 to 5 tables in the restaurant and more then enough staff on floor to handle the flow.
We’ve given The Breadline in Omak several chances over the past year, hoping things would improve, but each visit seems to get more disappointing than the last so I decided to write a review in hopes the owners take steps to improve the location as I feel the staff need retraining and the kitchen needs to be reevaluated.
We ordered the fettuccine with chicken, which came with dry, flavorless, obviously pre-cooked chicken that was frozen. The sauce didn’t taste fresh (probably canned) and lacked depth. For the price, the dish felt underwhelming and not worth it.
We also ordered the “Long Island Clam Chowder,” which was more of a clam bisque than a chowder it lacked the thickness and richness chowder usually gets from a proper flour roux if it was made fresh. That said, it was still fairly tasty. Unfortunately, it was also forgotten and didn’t arrive until almost after our entrees, only showing up once we reminded our server.
The worst part of the experience, however, was the service. We were seated fairly quickly, but then waited over 15 minutes just to see our server, who took our drink orders and disappeared for another 15+ minutes. Our drinks didn’t arrive until the food did, and when we asked for a second round, those didn’t show up until we were nearly done eating.
After finishing, we sat with empty plates for 25 minutes and no contact from staff. We wanted dessert but decided to leave instead due to the poor service. Our original server apparently “clicked off,” and no one else stepped in. Meanwhile, one of the staff was more interested in chatting with a friend about her pregnancy than checking on tables.
Sadly, this visit has confirmed our decision not to return. The Breadline has potential, but the consistently declining service and food quality have made it not worth the time or money and would encourage the owners and managers to step in and help retrain, and take control of the products they sre selling to the community.
As a local here in omak I hate to say these things but changes need to be made if we are to return to do business and I bet im not the only one who thinks that...
Read moreThis place is a gem!! Truly amazing menu, very unique. They have everything from sandwiches to pasta to salads and soups. Awesome cocktail list, and any kind of fresh fruit lemonade (including huckleberry and mango). The sweet potato fries are cut huge and thick. The onion rings are huge and crispy and come with a ground mustard and yummy tartar. The garlic fries were so bomb! I had the prime rib dip. The prime rib was cut perfectly and had a little bit of crisp to it. The bread was a little bit sweet for me but its made fresh. But the bread was delicious and my mom's crossant looked phenomenal. They have desserts too and fresh loaves of bread you can buy. They also sell their suicide hot sauce that I didn't get to taste. The environment is so chic and homey. Its like sweet homey vintage pinup style. I will totally be back. The service was fantastic and our waiter, who I really wanna day her name was Brenda, she got everything on our order perfectly, even with modifications. Food was timely and hot! And the management was around often to make sure everything was going smoothly. Truly it was an amazing experience and I truly recommend going out of the...
Read moreI was extremely taken back tonight at the Breadline Cafe... we go there often enough to where we spend plenty of money there... I had told my waitress (whom was very kind) that id like 2 pink cookies and 1 slice of pie to take home after we were finished and to add that to our check. My daughter and I were on our way back from the bathroom and we decided to grab the treats ourselves (as they were already added to our bill) the owner rudely came up behind me and said 'um did you let your waitress know about those' I said yes I did. She said oh ok well where are you sitting? I pointed too my table where we just spent nearly $100 dollars with my treats ON the tab.... and the owner said oh okay ill let her know. Um thank you for treating me very rudely and like I was stealing your petty baked goods. Just because I am young and not dressed to the 10s in Omak WA doesn't mean im stealing in your restaurant ha ha. I wont be going back and thats unfortunate because we came here often. But her attitude...
