Probably more of a 3.8 than a 4. Rib choice is St.Louis. This is fine. You’ll just need to expect more fat and gristle. My wife and I split a whole rack…which we couldn’t finish. My wife thought the smoke flavor had a lighter-fluid flavor to it. I didn’t catch that. However, the smoke flavor didn’t seem to be a fruit wood. The meat was tender and fall off the bone. They had four sauce choices and they were all good. The Korean fries were KILLER! This was a meal unto itself. We actually ate all of this and took most of the meat back to the campground. I was disappointed at the portion size for the banana pudding. It wasn’t much bigger than the sauce containers for to-go orders. For $2 I though it was outrageous. I didn’t order. It made me sad as I only get banana pudding at places like this because I’m the only one in our household that likes it. The dining area was typical BBQ restaurant fair. However, the seats were uncomfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The cashier had their hand and wrist wrapped in white gauze from some kind of injury and the gauze had become unwrapped and was hanging down and dragging about 5 inches. Kind of off putting on the “cleanliness” spectrum. I love hitting BBQ places when out this one was a bit above average. We’ll be back to Bandy Creek again and we’ll return to try other menu options. Hopefully the banana pudding will be more reasonably portioned. I’d pay $4 for a reasonably...
Read moreWe were on vacation over spring break and the food was delicious but we entered the wrong door and there was no seat yourself sign so it was awkward and whether to sit and wait for staff or get in the takeout line was quite unclear and awkward too. Anyway, the young man was working so hard to keep up. Our food took an **incredibly long time after we ordered. The locals all seemed to understand to order ahead, grab and go. We got the big family meal for 5/6 people. It was a ton of meat like for 8 people but the sides were more like 5 people. It was a good value since we had sandwiches the next day. Taste was great except the potato salad was like cold mashed potatoes (or is that just Tennessee potato salad?). Fried pickles were too salty but still good. If we lived there we might go again and try different sides and order *well in advance. Maybe they were just working on super short staff. Oh and we were excited about the various bottles of sauce but then they didn’t taste all that different from each other and the bottles were sticky. If speed and staff increased I can see this place earning 5 stars. We wont be back due to location, we...
Read morePains me to said this as a Texan but this is better than Texas BBQ. They've mastered the staples but there’s enough creativity in the menu to bring me back to town. Reasonably priced sides (Try the apple bacon baked beans) although some what I thought were sides had generous portions and could be an entree (Chicken Bacon Ranch Fries). They make their sauces in house and had a good selection of heat. I needed up taking a bottle home with me. The whole table ended up sharing everything so that we could try it all but surprisingly enough my favorite ended up being the fries pickles. The burger was messy in the best way and the table envy was an original dish called the Big Slop. The Mac N Cheese had the right amount of thickness and the kids loved it. Fries were good on their own or as a food pallet and it was fun trying all the sauces. Lastly, I think backrooms are a good indicator of overall restaurant hygiene and I could have eaten off of the bathroom floors they were so clean. I’ll...
