Crab Crazy — Restaurant in Ontelaunee Township

I first stopped at Crab Crazy in Reading Pa. about a year ago and loved the little shop and the variety of what they had. I was looking for an alternative for blue crabs that I normally get delivered to my door next day from Maryland Blue Crab Express fresh off the boats. I normally pay $300+ depending on the season and the size. So when I stopped in and told them of my dealings with the Maryland company they told me I was crazy and getting ripped off. So for Memorial Day I decided to do business with Crab Crazy. They charged me 300+, which I was told I was crazy for paying for and the seasoning was put on after they were steamed (I watched them do it if your wondering) The weight of most were ok but about 2 dozen were very light and most under 5 inch. I would never pay this price with the Maryland company in all the years of business I’ve done with them for that size and quality.

Now, on the other hand, Crab Crazy has some great items such as their crab deviled eggs, crab pasta salad and wonderful crab cakes.

The crabs at Crab Crazy are absolutely outstanding!! The gentleman I spoke to on the phone to place my order was extremely nice, and every bit as nice as well when I picked up my crabs. I ordered 18 large and they were true to size, incredibly fresh, hot, perfectly seasoned, and FULL and HEAVY! I really think these are the best crabs I’ve ever had- just off the chart amazing, and I’ve had steamed crabs from all over Maryland, including the Eastern Shore, and these just blow everything else out of the water. They were very nicely packaged in cardboard trays in a paper bag which made clean up easy, and mallets and paper were available for a small additional charge. Today I went to purchase blue crabs from this establishment and soon as I walked through the door I was greeted from the guy who was cooking the crabs the another guy waited on me who was very nice. The crabs was a little pricey but was well worth the money they were a really good size and I was very impressed. I use to ride all the way to Philadelphia from Allentown to buy crabs I was in the area and decided to stop at this place and I won’t go anywhere but here from now on the crabs were very good and the service was even better.
