Chicken King - Opelousas — Restaurant in Opelousas

They have the best hamburgers around Opelousas and have been around, to by knowledge, since the 1940s (World War 2 era). It used to be a take out only place at the time when i was a kid and we used to buy hamburgers and chicken here back when I visited my grandmother (she died in January of 2009). I was visiting Lafayette and came down to Opelousas to eat here because I remember how delicious the food was. One thing I noticed is they added the dining room which is very nice and the food is still the best ever, exactly like it tasted when I was a kid and when my dad was a kid. No trip to Opelousas is complete without stopping and eating here. This is one of my favorite places along with Soileau’s. The service here is very friendly and the atmosphere with 1950s music...

I frequent this location when visiting the Acadiana area. An employee from the back dumped her ice, from a previous drink, in the fountain drink reservoir. She then took that same used cup and scooped ice out of the large ice machine from which they bag ice. She contaminated the whole ice machine!!! I sent an email to management with no reply. I will never patronize this location. If employees are doing that, what are they doing in the back. They already have a sign up for fountain drinks for employees versus bottled drinks. After that disgusting display, drinks should only be consumed on breaks and served from the customer side of the counter. GROSS GROSS...

I live in Lafayette so I know a lil about good chicken I've been eating Fat Albert for year but now I deliver for Pepsi and I had the honor of stopping there but I first tryed the one in Port Barre on my Tuesday route and I make sure that before I leave from there I stop and I have the one in Opelousas on my Friday route and I got the popcorn shrimps 😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋 it's was so good season very well and the chicken is season all the way to the bone and everything is always hot and fresh I see y'all Tuesday p.s and there prices r very reasonable two pieces I think no more the five and that's with fries and trust not like Popeyes almost ten dollars for them lil...
