Benton's — Restaurant in Opp

I discovered this place when I first moved to Alabama and started working in Opp 3 years ago. I should have put in a review sooner, but here it is: I ordered the chicken strip salad. Guys. This is a bucket. I am an eater, but I had no choice but to take half this bad boy home. The chicken was extremely tender. Its probably one of my favorite salads. Its made with spring mix greens and its very hard around anywhere near us to find something not made with iceburg lettuce. The price, you literally cannot beat it. I do wish that they'd give 4 sauces instead of two for such a big salad, but the team is more than helpful and always willing to assist with whatever extras you need. My husband had the large chicken strip meal. The potato flats dipped in ranch are our favorite side. I will admit I stole a few off my husband's plate. My son wasn't super hungry and ordered the cheese curds, to which we did not know had tiny pieces of jalapeños in the batter theyre fried in. So, if you have picky eaters like mine, just a heads up. Also would like to qdd that theyre always clean, kind, and the food always taste fresh and never like bad greese. Food is always served wuite fast even during peak times. Feb2025: Benton's is a wonderful, locally-owned restaurant that offers customizable side dishes for a small additional charge. The quiet and charming atmosphere makes for a pleasant dining experience. The staff is always courteous, and today Madison was especially helpful in explaining the upcharge options available for my mother's diabetic dietary needs. Don't miss this if you're in town!

DEC 2024: This place is a total gem! The food is incredible every time, and the atmosphere is so peaceful and relaxing. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable about their seafood. I highly recommend the Shrimp Po'boy and Philly Cheesesteak (the meat is so tender!). The only thing is the bacon on the BLT could be a bit crispier. But overall, it's a great spot with affordable prices around $10-15 per person.

Returned on a Thursday evening to have supper in the dining area. I had another delicious burger and fries along with a gigantic Diet Pepsi. The dining area was clean and comfortable. We ordered at the counter and the food was delivered to our table. You can tell this place is a local favorite because many people were picking up orders. I still recommend this restaurant.

Great burgers, crispy fries and cold drinks. It takes a little while to get your order, but you can call ahead. This is not fast food, but the burgers are much better than what you find at most fast food restaurants. There is a small dining room, but it seems most people use the outside pick up windows to order and pick up. This is a hometown favorite dining spot. I recommend...
