The White Cloud is a cute neighborhood breakfast and lunch place that's more than a diner. The small dining area has both tables and a counter. Daily specials are a treat as are the regular menu items. My companion and I each ordered the French toast breakfast sandwich. Calling it a sandwich is a misnomer...I can't imagine not using a knife and fork on this! Two slices of French toast are filled with eggs (prepared any style), your choice of cheese, and bacon (I can't recall if there was a sausage option or not). This dish also includes either home fries or hash browns. If I have a complaint, it's about the potatoes. The home fries weren't seasoned and could have been cooked a bit longer as some chunks were hard as if underdone. The hash browns are deep fried patties like you get at McDonald's or in your supermarket frozen food case...wish they were fresh. The coffee, on the other hand, was excellent and refills were readily available. One last thing: the restaurant is not wheelchair accessible as there are two...
Read moreWe sat there for over 40 minutes waiting for our food. We finally asked our waitress what the deal was and they said that there were still a few orders ahead of us. The place was not busy at all. I'm assuming they were having a bad day or something. The booths were also spaced poorly and the guy in the booth behind me was moving around a lot and the back of his chair kept mine and sending ambient Shockwave through our booth and table. So opted to just leave instead of waiting for what seemed an additional half hour to eat. They apologized told us our coffee was on the house. Which was appreciated, but it was definitely a bad experience that took up too much of a busy day. The waitstaff and owners seemed like very nice people. But the experience I had there was pretty awful. I'm hoping (for their sake) this experience was a fluke. While I didn't get to eat the food, the prices seemed to be really good and the only thing I can say is that you might want to ask them how long it will take to get your food...

Went for lunch and got the Corned Beef & Cabbage meal. Ate it too fast so didn't get a picture :). Brought me back to my childhood when my mom used to make it every year on St. Patrick's Day. The Meat was delicious and was the most tender I've ever had.
Highly recommend the Muffin Sundae which I snarfed down. There are different flavored muffins (French Toast, Blueberry, Cranberry Orange) and you also get a choice of Chocolate or Caramel Sauce. I opted to pass on the sauce and selected the French Toast muffin. With the vanilla ice cream and whipped cream, it really hit the spot.
Got the Chocolate Guinness cake to go which was great as well.
I'm going back very soon to snag some of their seafood chowder which I hear a lot of good things about. The BLT with avocado looks like a winner as well. Their specials are made daily by the owner from scratch.
Friendly staff and warm atmosphere. Can't...
