So firstly, this isn't against the car-hop. She was doing the best she could. I feel for her because the kitchen kept fouling the orders, and she had to keep apologizing for the mistakes she had no control over. We arrived at 7:30 pm, Saturday June 8th. We had two orders in one car, so we used the open air kiosks near the tables. Both groups pressed the buttons. It took then about 10 minutes to take our orders. It was hard to understand the person taking the orders because the speakers seemed to be messed up. It took an hour to get our food. After ordering, we waited another 20 minutes, and the hop brought two bags and our drinks. The food was wrong. We took inside and the manager couldn't seem to understand that what we ordered wasn't in the bags. He told us he would get it right out. It took another 30 minutes. The other group with us got their correct order, but it took abput 45 minutes for their food. The entire time we were there that poor hop kept taking food and drinks back inside because the orders were wrong. We watched one person get their order, leave, and then come right back because their order was wrong. Another woman pulled up, got out with a receipt, went inside, and came back out 15 minutes later with a bag of food. Some of the cars left without ordering because they sat there waiting without anyone coming onto the speaker. Some of the cars were there when we pulled in and were still there when we left waiting for food they had paid for. This is ridiculous. I have had trouble with sonic and incompetent employees, but this has been the worst one yet. Also, I think I was overcharged. I won't be back to this location. Read moreWe arrived and tried to place our order by pressing the button only to have some one answer but did not reply when we started our order. We then ordered through the app. Followed by waiting over 20 minutes for our app order. Once they brought our food we realized we were missing the chicken strips and 2 smash burgers. We pushed the red button and we could not understand the guy on the speaker so we pulled around to the window to speak to someone face to face. We then sat for over 3 minutes while watching 2 people paying attention to a cell phone before coming to the window. We explained what was missing, a few minutes later the man comes back and tells us they are out of Chicken Strips and offers popcorn chicken and we say yes. Then he comes back a second time and says they are out of the smash burgers as well. I ask for a refund and I am instructed to call the number on my recipient. Once they come back with the popcorn chicken we ask for 2 forks for our chili cheese tots and chili cheese fries that we actually received. They came back with one fork and said they were low on stock and thats all they have. The young man who came to the window the first two times never came back once he instructed us to call the number on our ticket, instead he made another gentleman wait on is.
I immediately called the number on my ticket for my refund and had no issues whatsoever dealing with customer support.
Customer service at this location is lacking. I could understand if they were extremely busy but there was only one other customer in the parking lot and at least 3 people inside the building. What can I say? Sonic is Sonic. You come for the big drink and end up with a burger or a footlong it at least some cheese sticks. My biggest problem is that some Sonics will mess up my drink order. Want a limeade? You're getting a cherry limeade. Wants coke zero with real cherries or limes? 50/50 you're getting that nasty diet cherry or lime syrup. But when it's right, it's heaven! The last two times I can't to those particular Sonic, I paid for extra cherries in my drink. I got exactly TWO cherries both times. I won't be doing that again. Edit: I had previously given this 3 stars for consistently messing up drink orders. A manager replied to that post and so I went back to try again. Either to get a picture of the mess up, or to see if the problem has been addressed.
CLEARLY someone has had a stern talking to. The retraining seems to have been a success, so I'm putting in 5 stars. Everything else was always great here. Keep up the good work!
