Like the other review says, it sets the bar high. From the aesthetics of the dining room, bar and open kitchen, Ghost Tree Grill is amazing. The high ceilings and natural wood make for a warm welcoming atmosphere. We sat in the bar at a high top. Our servers were top notch and explained everything on the menu. We only had appetizers, but the dinners that were carried by looked amazing. We started with the charcuterie board and the ahi tuna Crudo. Both were excellent. The charcuterie board as NW and local ingredients. Both were awesome. The tuna a cold and delicate and the charcuterie board was warming. Next we had the pork belly and local purple uni. I’ll go back the uni any time any day! 6 stars! It was super cold, presented amazingly and the dish was the hit of the night. The pork belly was perfectly cooked. The mustard bbq sauce was a bit powerful, but combined with our left over charcuterie board Rogue Smokey Blue cheese it was still excellent (not all pallets are the same). We finished with the tres-leches German chocolate cake, sorbet and an espresso. Like everything else they were amazing. Cold where it should be and warm where it should be. No sugar or cream were needed for the espresso. It was perfect We will be back, but the next visit will be during daylight to see and enjoy the views of Old Macdonald and the Ghost Tree.

We arrived in Bandon a little later than expected, and the dog-friendly restaurant options open in town after 8pm are pretty slim. Fortunately for us, Ghost Tree Grill has a pet-friendly patio and their last seating is at 9:45! Our server, Jade, was phenomenal. She was friendly and knowledgeable about the town, the resort, and (obviously) the menu. We ordered the French onion soup, 16 oz ribeye, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, and macaroni and cheese. The soup was full of flavor, the ribeye was great quality and cooked perfectly, and the sides were fantastic. The portions are quite large, so they are perfect for sharing. This restaurant is a little off the beaten path, but the road less traveled took us to a gem in the forest that we are sure to return to whenever we visit!

We had become disenchanted with a restaurant in downtown Bandon that we usually go to every year, so we decided to try this one. I’m pretty sure this restaurant is the nicest and most expensive restaurant in the crown of Bandon Dunes. My companions had been here twice before, but it was my first time. (I had eaten at another Bandon Dunes restaurant on a previous trip to Bandon and was slightly unimpressed.) This one, however, was amazing.

The restaurant itself is beautiful with windows overlooking the golf course, beautifully detailed wood and, for a chef, a great view of the exhibition kitchen.

We started with the Halibut Ceviche. Now, I’m not a huge fan of ceviche, but this was really pretty good. (I wouldn’t order it myself, but I did enjoy it). It had onions, avocado, three different color tomatoes and a sauce that contained tomato, onion, two chilies and other things. My companion asked what was in it and the server wrote down all the ingredients for us. I had a teacher in culinary school that would say – “I’m more than happy to give away my recipes because I know they cannot cook it as well as I can.” It was served with housemade tortilla chips which were delicious in their own right.

For dinner, we decided to get the prime rib and some sides (as the steaks are ala carte). We had them split the prime rib in half and, at 8 ozs of meat each, it was plenty. And, it was delicious. Who would have thought that a perfectly cooked slab of prime rib would not be the best part of the menu. The sides were. We had WHIPPED POTATO with caramelized onions, HASH BROWNS with chipotle crema, pickled onion, cherry peppers and ROASTED CARROTS with tahini yogurt, date syrup and crispy quinoa. They were all three delicious – especially the hash browns. It was traditional shredded potatoes, formed into a rectangular “cake” and deep fried. Amazing.

Although we were pretty full, we decided to order dessert. One of our party had HOUSE-MADE MARIONBERRY ICE CREAM with granola crisp, and I had APPLE CIDER DOUGHNUTS with butterscotch. Mine was absolutely delicious. The donuts were warm and the cold butterscotch dipping sauce was a great compliment. My friend gave me a little taste of his ice cream and it was delicious as well. It was impossible to determine which was better. We finished with a delicious latte (I’ve been living off Keurig coffee all week, so I was starved for good coffee). All in all, I would highly...
