A while ago, 17Aug21, son and I went in to Kelly's around 5:45 pm for dinner. Sat at the bar and both ordered the fish & chips with the soup. And had ale's to drink. The fish and chips plus the soup were all nice and hot, and tasty.
The next morning at 2 am, had to get up because of GI tract distress. Off and on the pot 3 times before it finally let off around 8 am. Did not have a comfortable sleep.
I can't see a way for the food to have given me a bad case of the trots because everything was so hot, so I'm guessing it was the condiments, or perhaps the glass I had the IPA in. I had the tartar sauce and ketchup, but my son didn't have either...and he didn't have the trots in the early am.
I love Kelly's food but this is the 2nd time this has happened so I'm hesitant to go again. I hope management gets the word and tosses out those contaminated condiments (if that's what caused it), or improves how glasses are handled before giving them to guests (hold near the bottom,...
Read moreEmployees are entirely ignorant on state law In regards to service animals. My fiancee was told i was "mouthing off" for clarifying that we actually aren't required to provide documentation (ORS 659A.143) And indirectly told I would be thrown out if I did so again. A second employee then felt it necessary to try and police how my fiancee were interacting with his service dog (petting her, her sitting on his lap) and argued with me when I tried to inform her that whether or not a service dog is allowed to be pet /held is entirely up to the owner of the dog. Obviously I can't prove that I wasn't being "mouthy" but I very much don't think that I was and neither does my partner. I hope to never have the misfortune of being in this situation ever again. If you have a service animal, I'd go anywhere else if I were you unless you enjoy being harassed by staff. Very disappointing. Disability law is free to read about on...
Read moreI had heard high praise about this casual, laid back little restaurant in Milton-Freewater. I decided I'd take the 1½ hour drive to see what it was all about, and boy was it worth it. The atmosphere was perfect, making us feel right at home. Service was a little slower than I was expecting, although considering how busy they were, it was more than understandable. It was very nice of the waitress to offer our drinks on the house to apologize for the wait, without us saying anything since we knew it was so busy. The staff was very polite and welcoming, our waitress was friendly and had a positive personality. Now let's get to the food. Kelly's restaurant managed to cook what I consider to be the best NewYork Steak I have had in a very long time. My wife LOVED their fettuccine alfredo. We ordered two drinks, a Lemon Drop and Vodka Cran. Both were made fantastic. I will definitely...
