My review of a local Mexican restaurant

5/5 Stars ⭐️

I recently had the pleasure of dining at La Cabaña De Raya, a hidden gem located right by the water. As soon as I walked in, I knew I was in for a treat. The vibrant decorations and lively music set the tone for a festive and authentic Mexican dining experience.

The food was simply delicious! I asked for the “Guacamole” appetizer, which is freshly made upon ordering. (You can tell cause they maintain the Mexican tradition of leaving the avocado pit in with the mixture to conserve it)For our entrees I ordered the “Flautas” (shredded chicken stuffed/fried corn tortillas) and my friend had the “Chile Relleno” burrito. Both dishes were expertly prepared and bursting with flavor. The portions were generous and the prices were very reasonable.

But what really made our experience stand out was the stunning waterfront view. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the sunshine while we savored our meals.

The service was also top-notch - our servers Yensy RM and Diana Mendez were friendly and attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed.

If you're looking for authentic Mexican cuisine with a beautiful view, look no further.

I can't wait to go back!

It’s very interesting experience how we find this place. We were hiking in a forest and discussing which restaurant should we have lunch later. There are some tourists too, they’re from local. They highly recommend us to this restaurant! Then we come! I’m so happy we make correct choices! This is a very nice family restaurant with wild and great ocean view. The staff are all smile always. When they know it’s our first time here and give us super friendly recommendations — and honestly, everything is spot on. We order Fish Ceviche, Guacamole, Mole, Chile Relleno, shrimp Quesadilla, Gorditas(chicken and beef both). Definitely, Guacamole is 100% fresh made, the color looks so great. The fish Ceviche is my favorite, cooked fish with lemon juice, cilantro, tomato, avocado. Especially when enjoyed by the sea, this little dish has a charm all its own. Mole comes with eggs, more flavorful. The shrimp quesadilla is so delicate. You can taste the sweet shrimp. Great food and a fresh mango cocktail — what more could you ask for? This trip just got...

My son and I will definitely be back here again. Very tasteful fresh food. The assorted peppers on my plate tasted organic and fresh. The shrimp was yummy and the secret was bacon added with the shrimp and peppers OMG! The entire plate I ordered was a 4.7 out of 5☆ the homemade hot fresh tortillas were very flavorful with the rest of the dish. I enjoyed being able to build my soft tortilla layers differently each time. Leftovers will be just as tasteful. Best $34.00 I've spent for 2. The view is beautiful off the water. We want to go back on a beautiful sunset night. Definitely fresh and healthy choices offered here. The music was nice the view was beautiful our waitress was very great. One of the best mexican restaurants we have been to. My son mentioned he wants to eat here the next time we...

Pricey. Authentic Mexican food. Strong margaritas. Older building, but well kept. View of Young's Bay and the hills of Astoria from the covered outdoor patio. Friendly service. No complimentary chips and salsa. Two people shared orders of guacamole and pico de gallo with chips and we each had an entree with rice and beans. Enjoyed one margarita each, served in pint glass jars. We ordered salted rims, they came without salt. The beans were salty, though. The food was very good, served hot, no complaints. Portions were small compared to portions at similiar Mexican restaurants. The bill was over $75 and with tip over $95 and we came away feeling like "Gee, that was really tasty, but sure it wasn't an almost hundred dollar meal. We won't do that again".

This place is a bit off the beaten track and mostly known to locals. We have eaten here multiple times and always had a good meal. They serve a bit different Mexican than most places, all good. Today my wife had Empanadas, not something you normally find in Mexican places, with marinated chicken (Pollo Marinado), and really liked it. I had Guisado de Cameron, rice, beans, pico, mozzarella cheese, chipotle, bacon and shrimp. My wife figured with chipotle, bacon and shrimp, it was the dish for me. It was quite good and I would order it again. Salsa came in two squeeze bottles, green and red, and they were good. My tortillas were very fresh. We will be back.
