Atmosphere top notch. Food just okay. Needs a weekend brunch at 10am. The side dishes on lunches and dinners are the problem. Lackluster.
I would suggest management take a look at restaurants that do well for the same amount of money and manage its resources better. This restaurant has a captive audience but it shouldn't get lazy. It could be so much better. As it is, the place is pretty good.
So what could give the place the edge? Answer: meat. Wild caught fish, hunter's deer and elk, and local rancher pig, chicken and cow. Yes, getting really good fresh local meat is good for the economy and would make the menu shine.
What else? Mushrooms, wild picked locally. And homemade truffle infused oils to go on things like potatoes. Get some locals in the area to grow fresh herbs, as well. There are so many people a stone's throw away that would be happy to do that for a nominal charge.
And, no, I'm not some rancher or hunter. I'm just a foodie who recognizes an opportunity when he sees it.

Read moreLast night, On Valentines Day, I was witness to something absolutely appalling. There was a gentleman and his wife or girlfriend that came in shortly before 7. When they came in they mentioned to the Hostess that they had reservations at 7pm. The hostess asked them to wait just a moment. 10 minutes later the hostess said your table was ready. This was after another couple had come in and was seated right away.
The hostess then brought the couple back to the front as their table was in fact not ready. Over the next 20 minutes, several parties came in with reservations and were seated instantly. I as well as the gentleman who was waiting, overheard the hostess tell another woman at the front that she accidentally gave away their table to a couple with no reservations. At this point the man was quite upset and the management staff did absolutely nothing to accommodate them. Didn't offer them a seat at the bar with drinks and apps on the house, or offer them a coupon to come back, nothing. Our server Lindsey was very nice & attentive, but the main bartender on the other hand had a bad attitude & when I told her to watch her attitude, she snapped back it goes both ways. I don't know who trained her, but maybe some retraining is in order 😁.
Our server said it would be a 30 minute wait so my mom and I thought we would make it easier & go to the bar to order our drinks as I know people golf & order drinks & cash out at the bar all the time everyday, I've done it without any issues. The rude bartender asked if we were sitting outside at a table & we said yes. She said a server would take our drink order, but our server just told us it would be 30 minutes before we could order, so that didnt make sense. Just overall a bad attitude.
The rest of the service was fine. I rarely leave reviews or have anything bad to say, but she shouldn't talk to her customers that way. We will still come back sometime soon because we have enjoyed it every time before. Hopefully she will have a better...
