May have been the drive, but seriously one of the best pizza's we have had. We were recommended this place by a local. Probably one of the best ways to eat is by asking around and this time I was lucky enough to find gold. So this pizzeria and brewhouse is not your fancy dancy place. The arcade games are losing colors, the ceiling has seen better days, but the people and the food make the whole trip amazing. Initially just needed something to eat. The pizza choices sounded good and we ordered away. The pizza when it came looked well covered and when we tasted the crust, that is what clinched it. A pleasant taste and snap. Not overly baked where it would be so stiff or undercooked - it was seriously perfection. The toppings were piled on there. It wasn't a skimp fest. For the three of us, it was plenty, and we all agreed it was one of the best we have had. I did saunder up to the bar. After the local dancers were finished and the live band took a break, I made my move. Grabbed one of the local beers since they are not distributed elsewhere. That's my understanding. They have awards for this stuff and the only way to get it is to saunder up to the bar - or go to the local potatofest. I grabbed the Irish Stout. Perfect. Another person recommended Rod's Red. A few were tapped out but the stout was as good as I have had. Not watery just delicious. Now I even spoke to a few other patrons, and the owner while I was there. Everyone, and I mean everyone, we met was nice and talked to us. We found out a lot about the history of the brewery. Something that the cow painted pizza pans made more sense afterwards. I suggest you stop in here, grab a bite to eat. Pick a beer and sit down. Listen to the live band, watch the dancers, and just enjoy life for a little bit in this beautiful, colorful, and local...
Read moreI haven't had any good experiences here with exception of seeing my dad play his music over the years. I came here once outside of that in college and had the worst tasting pizza of my life. Maybe it was the choice, because another time I found it ok. Not great, but ok. I feel like you have to be drunk on one of their many ale choices to enjoy the food? I also enjoyed the fries on another occasion.
What has been consistent is the terrible service. Rude people that work here. That alone keeps me from ordering food anymore. I'll enjoy the music when my dad plays music, but I order nothing. And, I have yet to see the servers do anything but bring the food. They don't check on the guests, offer refills of drinks or clean the dishes away until all the guests are gone.
Once I was visiting a friend in the bar section and just wanted to say hi for a minute. The bartender was a middle-aged woman who told me quite rudely that I couldn't be in that section unless I was 21 or over. I was about 29 at the time and offered my ID. She refused to look at it and continued to demand I leave. I tried multiple times to have her look at it without success.
Another time I was ordering food and an appetizer was pictured that looked rather good. I couldn't find it and I asked the man at the ordering counter where it was. He told me it wasn't on the menu anymore, but I could add two items together to make it. I asked if I could do that and he replied in a rude and snarky voice, "Well, it's your money!"
I don't know the owners and I hear they are nice. I have never met them. I dislike this place terribly and it feels low class when entering it. I know people like the beer, but I don't drink much at all. The food and service are terrible. I wouldn't go here if it was the only...
Read moreThis is the second time we've been here. We come for the live music. So far so good. We had a great time.
The staff, the patrons, and even the band members were all friendly and enjoying themselves. The whole experience was a treat!
Last night we heard ”Glass Heart”. They were so much fun to dance to that we never got a chance to actually sit down.
We slammed down a pizza during one of the breaks. It was good although slightly pricey. I can't complain though, because there was no cover charge for the music. All things considered it was a very good deal.
We will be back over and over. Thank you for the excellent music.
A little more about”Glass Heart”. If you like to dance, you really want to check this band out. My only complaint is they don't play local public venues enough! I would happily go here them twice a month. Here's hoping!
They do a lot of covers that you will recognize, but they're far enough out of the main stream that iit is all fresh and welcome. The band is tight. The vocals are good, and the guitarist is excellent. Even their mixing is perfect. You can hear everyone in the band, you can hear and dance to the music, and yet somehow you can still converse if you want to. Kudos to a real professional gig.
Here's a little more about the guitarist, he manages to weave a lot of solo licks, into a lot of the songs, but he's good enough to be able to do it without breaking the rhythm of the music. It makes the music so much tastier. You can enjoy the talent, yet you can...
