First off our server was excellent. Abigail I believe was attentive and sweet and worked very hard ! ! ! We tipped her very well.
That being said. Each year we camp near by and one nights treat is to go to Oregon Inn for prime rib and other dishes. We had a reservation for 8:00 pm. Arrived at 7:40 pm. Sat right away. Received drinks right away and orders taken right away.
Bread baskets came out maybe 30 minutes later. Appetizers maybe 45 minutes after ordering. Mozzarella wedges not hot. Tomato bread had black burnt edges. Crab dip was good.
Salads came out 30 minutes AFTER appetizers. Yes. 30 minutes after. Now the restaurant is EMPTY except another larger party behind us. Who had the same experience we did.
Salads good no issues there. Dinner now. Came out yet again about 45minutes after salads. My goodness. It's about 9:30 pm now.
Prime ribs were NOT 14 to 16 ounce. Maybe 12 ! ! ! And Luke warm would be giving credit for being even that warm. ( Flavor and tenderness was excellent though ).
Garlic Alfredo and lobster Mac and cheese had to be sent back twice to heat up to edible ( cold ).
Our server was so so sweet through all this !
Owner I assume. Older lady comes back into the room and says " everything good here ". To both parties to which my daughter says. " Our server considering the situation is amazing ". The owner. Turns and walks away.
For what we paid. And what we got. ( Not equal to what we ordered ). And the fact that you sent out burnt tomato bread. Cold meat and pasta. It's a hard pass next season on Oregon Inn as our big camping group dinner outing.
NO attempt by ownership to rectify the 2.75 hours we were there. The cold items or smaller then ordered steaks. So. Thanks but no thanks.
Again. Our server was awesome for being new !
Side note: If your not seated in the main area. It's like your an afterthought in a closet somewhere. So much character in the restaurant. Confined to a small area....
Read moreWe spent two days at Maumee Bay Lodge, and had dinner here, our first night there. It had 4 1/2 stars on Google Maps, so I felt it a safe bet. For me, that rating seems well deserved. We arrived early, for dinner. Seating was immediate. We were seated in the dining area. I'm not certain if another area exists. There were people eating at the bar, which we passed on our way.
Our wait person was friendly and knowledgeable. My wife and I ordered identical meals, batter fried Walleye, waffle cut French fries, and Key West vegetable medley. My wife had the house chardonnay. I am an IPA fan, so I asked for their selection. I was disappointed they had none I was interested in. So I went with Blue Moon, which is the only familiar name I knew, but not my favorite beer.
The dining room is small, and the tables are tight, by my experience. We were seated next to a large, boisterous group, maybe 10 strong. Well, their experience soon became our experience, if you know what I mean. Finally, they left, to our relief. Then, a couple of women were seated at a small table adjacent to us. One of them had heavy perfume. So, in my mind, we went from noise pollution to air pollution. I know the owners have no control over that, and I don't ding them for it, but realize that is possible in a small, tightly configured room.
The food arrived. Before me were two plates of food, so large, I knew I would not be able to eat it all. Two pieces of batter dipped and fried Walleye, a huge portion of waffle fries, and an enormous plate of fresh cooked vegetables. Everything was wonderful.

Read moreWe love to try new places we’ve never eaten at. A friend recommended The Oregon Inn so we headed there straight away. The place was packed yet we immediately found a handicap parking space at the end of the rear deck ramp. We got our mother situated in her transport chair and proceeded up the ramp where we were immediately greeted and seated.
Our server was quick to take our drink and appetizer orders. After she returned with the drinks her punctuality slowed down but we weren’t bothered by this, as previously stated, the place was full almost to capacity. I was hoping this would speak volumes to the quality of the food, and it did.
I had the prime rib which seems to be one of their signature dishes. The serving sizes ranged anywhere from 8 ounces all the way up to 30 ounces. The au jus was phenomenal as well. Mom had the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and stated “it was very good.” My wife had the French dip sandwich which was also good.
As we neared closing time, Summer (our server) became much more attentive and provided us with wonderful service. She was extremely pleasant and would be a joy to have serve us again in the future. We found the ambiance to be very pleasant as well. They have a nice, large patio I would like to come back and enjoy when the weather’s more suitable.
We’ll definitely be...
