I contacted Ashley after an extensive Google search to order a custom designed gluten-free cake for a girls weekend in South Haven Michigan celebrating with 6 friends from high school as we all are turning 50 this year. Some of us had dietary restrictions, in particular gluten-free. I live in New York but we all grew up in the Palos Hills area. My mom now lives in Orland Park and en route to South Haven, I would be spending a night in Orland. So my search began for a local bakery to customize a gluten-free cake that would make the 2 hour drive to South Haven. The reviews for CREME were outstanding so I had to inquire. Ashley was amazing from the beginning. I had a very specific design in mind. I lovingly call my girls “the Hens” and thus was the theme of my cake design. Ashley and I spoke once and I knew she immediately saw my vision. I sent some photos for inspiration but other than that, the entire process was so easy, especially being long distance. Ordering, payment, pick-up and transport. Everything was first-rate! One of my friends and I went to pick up the cake as scheduled and when Ashley brought out the cake, I was practically in tears with joy. She exceeded my expectations with bringing my vision to life and she listened to every detail I had communicated, and believe me, there were many! Not only did everyone LOVE the design but they RAVED about the taste. The gluten-free confetti flavor was outstanding! Even the gluten eaters could not tell the difference had they not known. She even made the fondant accents with gluten-free ingredients! Everyone agreed the buttercream was the best we’ve ever had, so decadent! We took her advice and let the cake sit at room temperature at least an hour before serving. It was heaven!! She now has several new gluten-free customers for sure! My friend who picked up the cake with me is a gluten eater and bought a regular cupcake for the drive up and raved about the flavor. This bakery is the real deal! Gluten, gluten-free, vegan, you name it, she does it and does it beautifully! And her brother who also works at the bakery is an absolute joy to speak with by phone. Let's start with the positive, the vegan cake is definitely one of the best we've had which is why we decided to order from her for our wedding day. To start, she made us pay for our samples. Three cupcakes. We were spending almost 1k for cake and cupcake favors. She charged us for three sample cupcakes. During the meeting about our wedding cake, we needed a three tier to feed everyone. She encouraged us to get the two tier because she was worried about a vegan two tier. She guaranteed the two tier would be stable as that was her worry with the vegan three tier. So we got the 2 tier. Fast forward to the day of our wedding and she was LATE so our florist had to leave and wasn't able to decorate our cake. This was planned months ahead of time. She was also so late that the workers at the banquet did not have time to package them which we paid for separately (the small clear favor boxes). So I get to my wedding and see a naked cake with a pile of flowers next to it. A few hours into our wedding, our cake starts to FALL APART. It literally completely fell apart. I sent her a message a few weeks later (after our honeymoon) with a picture of our broken cake, and she replied "oh no!" And didn't offer anything else. So, we decided to go in and asked for compensation AT LEAST for the cake and packaging materials (which we never even got back). She offered nothing and blamed it on the workers at our banquet hall???? Will never recommend, purchase, or do business...

How lucky I am to have found Creme Bakery by Sarah Ashley! I was having a difficult time finding a bakery that would customize items to create a sweet table for a bridal shower. What a joy and relief it was to meet and work with Sarah Ashley at Creme! To my delight, Creme Bakery makes unique items such as scrumptious cake pops, designer cookies, delectable mini doughnuts, luscious mini and large cupcakes, tasty chocolate covered pretzels, sweet chocolate covered strawberries and absolutely delicious, beautiful cakes (all for reasonable prices). I must add that the icing is the BEST I have EVER tasted! Sarah Ashley was an absolute joy to work with as she helped me choose the various selection and the correct number of items for the amount of guests. She also has a large assortment of pictures of her creations to assist with choosing the perfect selection for your occasion. All of the bakery goods were packaged professionally and delivered on time, and the sweet table was the highlight of the shower. Sarah Ashley truly helped make the event a success with her stunning display of elegant desserts! It will be a treat for anyone to visit Creme Bakery and enjoy the mouth watering items. For the summer months, Sarah Ashley has tables and chairs out front so anyone can enjoy their baked goods with coffee!
