Enjoyable little early rooster crowing 6:20 am walk from the pilot. cute building, A LOT of really good selections. had eggs Benedict with ham and country potatoes. the potato’s came out hot and fresh, poached eggs were cooked perfectly exactly to liking without my asking. Hollandaise sauce mild, thick & creamy, English muffin was good sized and fresh & soft. ham was this sliced and had good flavor. table amenities were plentiful which I appreciated, and my breakfast platter was a nice presentation. I got a slice of home made cherry pie, . The cherries were big and flavorful with a great balance of mildly tart and sweet , crust was good too.I also took a peach pie to go , the peaches were fresh and perfectly firm with a strong and ripe peach flavor.. While waiting to order, I met the baker and cook who takes a lot of pride in her baked items and food presentation, Who I found quite creative and I’d gander to add somewhat of a perfectionist, Critiquing herself in making her product perfect. She makes Home made that’s actually really good, and she’s really good at it the art of it, I might add. This place has Great food And I was surprised there was even a seat open being across from such a large truck-stop, that offers a home style sit down and eat establishment. Second to the food, I really loved the down home feel of the place with the locals and had the feeling I could be a content local here if I could stomachs the politics and taxes of California. Gotta say, the everyday local customers I had the pleasure of engaging in conversation make me wish I could. The locals and regulars really give it the best atmosphere! this is the kind of gem that’s hard to find when living out here out of my truck and I’m glad I came across it, and will be coming back anytime I...
Read moreI haven't been to this place since 2014. And now I remember why. Food prices are very high end with very low end quality.
I have to absolutely draw a line on service when the server sits down across from you to take your order. Then complain she doesn't want to get up. I felt like a bad person making this poor person work so hard to take my order. I actually wanted to cancel the order and leave. Everyone has a rough day. If you can't do the job then address that issue.
I had a cup of fruit and a plain bagel with cream cheese and a hot chocolate.
Bagel: Hard Cream cheese: Didn't quite smell good. Fruit cup: Maybe 3/4 of a cup of fruit. Melon was not quite ripe. Strawberries had a chemical taste to them. Hot Chocolate: Luke warm. And very sweet. Way too much sugar in whatever packaged product they are using.
I traveled to Orland to empty a storage unit I have had since 2014. I was tired, hungry, and exhausted. All I wanted was a small quiet breakfast of reasonable quality. Instead I didn't get lunch or dinner in favor of just driving...
Read moreWhile gasing up at Rolling Hills I asked one of the attendants where a good place to eat closeby was and they mentioned I5 Cafe. It was about 10;30 am on a Sunday. It was very easy access off the freeway. Walked in and they were very busy, all but one table filled, so i sat there (seat yourself). I wanted lunch and they said no problem. I ordered the Cobb salad no olives with garlic bread. The Cobb salad came with very tasty blue cheese dressing on the side, loads of bacon, tomatoes, red onion, and blue cheese. It was so fresh tasting and delicious. 10 out of 10. The garlic bread was not good, just regular bread with butter and those liquid garlic granules on top. I don't think you could even call it toasted. But no biggie because the salad was so good. Service was very friendly, and did well considering how busy they were. Lots of breakfast patrons. I will...
