Jerkman BBQ is the definition of a “hood spot.” I say this with nothing but love and respect. Being born and raised in the inner-city, I know a thing or two about hood spots. These are the Crown Jewels of the underworld where you find incredible food in unassuming places. The lady behind the counter told me that they are “renovating” when I asked if they made the traditional Jamaican food, like rice and peas, cabbage, cornbread, etc. She said usually on the weekends they might have that type of stuff. (If I go back and they actually renovated, then I’ll bump this review to 5-stars). The wait was a good 15 min, so I would assume the meals are made to order. I ended up going with the 5 wings with jerk fries special for $14. I felt this was overpriced for 5 small wings and some French fries doused in bbq sauce, but when I tasted it…I was blown away by how good it was. The plan was to order take out, munch a bit in the car, and then re-heat in my air-fryer when I got home. Well, that food never made it home!! I was amazed at the flavors. The wings and fries were fried to perfection, and the sauce mixture was on point. But what out it over the top, was the chopped pieces of jerk chicken thrown of top of everything! It was so tender and flavorful. Best jerk chicken I’ve had in Florida this far. Thank you, Jerkman!

Went to Jerkman BBQ, the west oaks mall location. Wait time 15min not as bad as the reviews which said 30-45 min just for what I ordered, food NOT as good as the reviews either. The sauces on the jerk fries were good but had no jerk kick to it. This the #1 seller and the reviews raved about it. The red sauce on them just tasted like sweet BBQ sauce and the yellow one had to be on there to make it look pretty and nothing else because no flavor at all. The chicken to fries ratio was good. But without the sauce, the chicken and the fries were bland. Didn't see a speck of seasoning on them. My food wasn't hot at all. Like barely lukewarm. The cashier while not mean wasn't friendly. I walked up and said hello and she just stared at me. I thought she didn't hear me, so I said it again with a bigger smile and she gave me a quick smirk and stared. Never even asked for my order. I just had to take the lead I guess. If I had to rate it, 5/10. Not bad not good but I will probably not go back. You should go try it for yourself though because Google has great reviews on it. Maybe the one in Pine Hills is the one they are reviewing. BTW, in fairness the second location isn't on Google so I had to post under the location I didn't go to.

If you're looking for an authentic taste of Jamaica, look no further than Jerkman BBQ. Let's be upfront: this isn't a fancy spot. The physical appearance of the place isn't particularly appealing, and the surrounding area isn't what you'd call beautiful. But honestly, none of that matters once you taste the food. The moment I took my first bite, I was instantly transported directly to Jamaica. The flavors were absolutely amazing, incredibly rich, and unmistakably genuine. This is the real deal, a true Jamaican culinary experience that delivers on every level where it counts. Despite the unadorned setting, I would absolutely return to Jerkman BBQ for the food alone. It's a testament to how truly delicious and authentic their dishes are. Don't let the aesthetics deter you; this is a must-visit for anyone craving a true taste of the Caribbean.

Honestly the best food I have eaten since I have been back to Florida. Two pieces of advice though. Order ahead or order for delivery. There's only one booth in the place, and the place was packed. Wasn't sure about where the line was, so look for the order window and see who is standing there with a receipt in hand. We stood behind people who had already ordered for a few minutes till we figured it out. Also it is lacking AC, not sure if it's just not there or it was broken... but it was hot. We got a 5 piece wing with jerk fries and a 5 piece shrimp with regular fries. I think we waited about an hour or so. As there was nowhere to dine in, had to drive the 45 minutes home. I was worried that the food would be soggy, especially the jerk fries. Let me tell you. They were freaking delicious. I bet if I was closer I would order twenty times more often. The jerk fries and wings were so good. The portion was good too, especially for the price. Better than a lot of places where you might want to order two meals because you're still hungry. The combination of seasoning was so good. The portion of meat that came on the jerk fries was not skimpy either. The lady at the counter was friendly and efficient despite the line and the heat. Disappointed they didn't have any mac and cheese when I went, but all the more reason to go again. I also saw their juices in the cooler after the fact and wouldn't mind trying a few of them. Definitely a must try and a must return in my book. I'd give them an 8 out of 5 if Google would let me....

I wish I could give this higher stars, because the BBQ is decent, on occasion. I've ordered from them a total of 3 times, and love their BBQ spin with Jamaican jerk. It's fantastic. However, each time I've received their food, I get different experiences. Once the food was damn near perfect, fries was crispy, seasoned, chicken proportionally cut, packaged well and drizzled in their jerk sauce generously. Heck, I wish their was an option to add extra sauce it's that good. But the other two times, the fries came luke warm, soggy, and not even seasoned smfh. Like how did that happen???? And the chicken came not proportionally cut, which not only made it awkward to eat, but there was a lack of sauce due to that over sight. Now the only thing that is consistent, is the fact that when you order the delivery, the food is shipped with no way to safeguard the order. It's not in a special bag that prevents delivery drivers from opening it, the bags aren't taped or anything. I would at the BARE MINIMUM believe the food container would be stapled shut like many other restaurants do, but nope, that's not true either. The food is just simply as is. Open to whatever, and whoever is delivering it to you. So the bare minimum isn't even being met. It's really a let down. So if your afraid strange delivery drivers may be able to tamper with your food, then this location isn't really for you unless your willing and able to go get it yourself. I hope they do better in the near future, because the BBQ chicken is...

My husband and I were on our way to Dennys in Winter Garden as we were passing the West Oak Mall I suggested I heard about this Jerkman. My hubby stated I'd rather try his spot on Ivey Lane. Welp! He made the turn into the Mall and the rest is history.

I loved everything about this place. The cashier was so pleasant and professional. The Jerkman was actually out front, greeting his customers. To me that says "He stands by his product"! The food was sensational. I have never heard of Jerk fries. My husband and I didn't order them initially and looked at other folks with the Jerk fries and got back in line to order. They are exceptional. It's really a meal in itself. The ribs and chicken jump came right off the bone. Our mouths and tastebuds are soooooo happy. Don't hesitate go see "THE JERKMAN" With all the spots that are left and there aren't many, He was popping. Constant steady line of people eager to order a platter of his food. It's a nice set up and you will feel safe. I wouldn't probably go at night I'm sure it would probably get a little rowdy. It's so disappointing to see how the WEST OAK mall has fell apart, but the JERKMAN gives this place LIFE. Trust me try it at least once. You will be back. I love his demeanor and appreciative attitude towards his guest. A black business that will go far with this type of amazing customer...
