This place is amazing. We went to the Biosphere 2 and wanted to try something new for food.
Pepper sauce Kitchen is perfect for an off the path adventure. It is literally off the path so add about 30 mins to your trip from the Biosphere but it was worth it. You get views from the state park and on the side of Mt. Lemmon. The restaurant is cool. There is outdoor and indoor tables for eating. They have corn hole, a table and chairs to sit outside and play Jenga and plenty of places for pictures and go for a walk.
Although there is a limited menu the burgers are great. I got a double and it was more than I could handle. It was the biggest, juiciest burger ever. And the double fried fries were AMAZING 🤩 They also have a weekly special unfortunately it wasn't available when we went, so try it if you can. Also, the staff was amazing. Fun to talk to and very knowledgeable about the area.
Had I done research we would have went on the Zipline but def going next time.
If you have time and are in the area I would definitely suggest Peppersauce...
Read moreI stopped in for the food only. Have a reservation for Zipline but have not come time yet. The restaurant needs guidance, you have to write what you want on a slip of paper but I was unable to find any direction saying to do so. After writing down word for word the menu item "Chicken Strips + fries" the staff was quick to correct me at the counter that I did not need to ask for fries as they all come with fries. Also a lot of chiefs in the kitchen telling each other how stuff should be as opposed to focusing on getting the customers served. Once I got my food it was really good "aside from waiting 5 min for them to find BBQ sauce" and I would eat the food again, but the servers seem to have a complex and no leadership. Hope next time I visit for Zipline it is more organized than the kitchen and I can...
Read moreDrove by one the evening after taking the truck up Rice Peak. Saw a huge crowd and stopped in randomly not knowing what it was. "Steak Night" apparently. You buy a raw cut of nice meat and there were 3 log burning grills out on the front porch overlooking the mountains and you cook your own steaks, there was live music, and about 100 locals with coolers of beer just having the best damn time. Talked up some regulars and listened to live music watching the sunset and the moon rise over the mountains from the porch with a bunch of cowboys. Everyone that worked there was kind in the type of small town way where you feel you know everyone even if you've never met. Really an incredible experience. Would drive down from Phoenix for...
