July 14, 2019. The course was in really good shape ..best ive seen it to be honest ..wasnt entirely expecting that. As i came up the 9th hole i noticed they had been sending new arrivals off both the front and back without any regard to groups already playing. Lady in the clubhouse lacked any golf knowledge or people skills and rudely dismissed my request for a raincheck or refund stating "she doesnt allow that".. im actively looking for a new club to join for next year..and this 1 interaction all but crosses rocky knoll off the list which is unfortunate ...its just very common knowledge to not cut groups off making the turn...i can just image what the pace of play is like mid day when all that congestion backs up....poorly run golf course..which is a shame because in the right hands with the right vision it could for sure be the best golf option around bangor...id recommend hermon...they have a sign by the 10th tee saying no starting on 10. Really not a fan of the back 9. I dont like having to place a ball exactly in a specific spot except the green. It is designed as a much harder 9 than the front and that is ok, just not a fan. Lack of water in the fairways make it hard as a rock. Break a tee on every tee off, if you can drill it into the grass, where there is grass. Maybe tell the boys taking care of your carts not to smoke soo much pot as they ( or at least one of them) is not treating the carts with much respect. I dont really care if someone smokes pot, but not at work, not very professional. Course, overall, is just mediocre. Greens on front 9 need some work and are kind of slow. Stopped by Shorty’s Pub at Rocky Knoll this Sunday afternoon and left more than satisfied. The crinkle-cut fries were a highlight, crispy and perfectly browned.
