Food was decent but waitress was horrible. Hopefully she was just having an off day. It was a Saturday evening so we expected it to be busy. We were seated and our drink order taken then a while later a different waitress came to take our drink order again... we did eventually get drinks and order our meals. Our drinks were gone by the time our food came out and was dumped at the table, one of the 3 meals only had 4 fries on the plate... as soon as the waitress sat the food down she was gone. We had to stop her twice as she was running by just to get ketchup and attempted to order more drinks. We did eventually get ketchup thrown to us in passing and tried to get her attention many times to order drinks without success. She had stopped and checked on the tables around us but never stopped back at our table and apparently did not see the many times we tried to get her attention. We stopped other waitresses to get service only to be told that they would send our waitress over. She never appeared. After 30+ minutes sitting waiting for a check we finally went to the bar to speak with the lady working that area to see about getting our ticket so we could pay and leave. We were told that our waitress would be sent over. After about 10 more minutes we did finally get our ticket and stopped her before she could run off again and paid so we could leave. At that time we were offered drinks which we refused. Slow service is expected during busy times but no service is...

Wow! I have spent time writing 5 reviews in my life… 3 good and now 2 bad. Went in for dinner at 6:15 on a Wednesday. Seated quickly with no personality, almost felt like a nuisance. Waited over 20 minutes for a waiter who was doing his best. My 2 daughters walked to the gift shop after we ordered by the pool to buy a shirt, or anything Dog Day’s. The staff in the poolside gift shop sent them to the gift shop in the main building because they were supposed to have “more”. They went to that gift shop and things really went down hill. My daughter told her which sweatshirt she wanted and in a medium. The employee put a sweatshirt in a bag and my 14 year old daughter paid for it with her own hard earned money (she busses tables at her families restaurant). When she got back to the table she realized it wasn’t the shirt she asked for. Back inside we go to get the right one. They didn’t have the one she told them she wanted and we kindly asked for a refund. We were told no refunds. Outside she goes to get a manager and it gets good. They told me I was a joke and they don’t need people like us here! (I have it on video!) We come to the lake regularly and visit one of the many locations owned by these people. We were threatened to be “thrown out”! Trust me, they didn’t need to “throw us out”, never again!...

Let me start by saying the steak bowl was amazing. The server we had was very short with us, but not bad. Management on the other hand was horrible. I gave the server a gift card and told her I wasn’t aware of the amount and that I’d pay the difference in cash. My total was 24.72 she handed me a book and said there was $25 on the card. Inside the book I was unable to find the card or a transaction slip for this purchase. I walked inside and asked for this and all the 3 or 4 young servers (that seemed to be new) could only tell me they didn’t know where my card could be and they couldn’t figure out how to give me a receipt??? So now my card is lost and I have no Idea how much was truly on it. The Server tellS the MOD (who seems to be in a conversation with some buddies) about the situation. He asked her how much was in the card she replies “.28”. Instead of properly verifying this by printing me a transaction copy he proceeds to be sarcastic and hand me a blank gift certificate with a quarter on it and tell me “ we owe you .03 cents” !!! I’m sure there were other ways to handle this as a manager. But what do I know. As I spread this story around I have found out this happens...

We stopped by this place on our way through and it had a really nice view. The problem was that they sat us outside and as soon as the wind picked up with a storm our menus, napkins, and some food went flying. We wanted to move inside but our waitress didn’t come back by for a while and by then we were done. I ordered a pretzel that was very hard and by the time they brought it out the cheese had started to harden too. It was difficult to find soft pieces to eat. The atmosphere was ok at first, then a lady got left behind by some guy off his boat and she started screaming obscenities for the remainder of our meal and was drunk with her friend sitting two tables away. Staff did not intervene and I don’t even think they were being served. They brought their own beer and then sat in the restaurant yelling. The way up through this places is stairs, not sure if they had an elevator but I did not see anything that suggested it was wheelchair accessible. They also charge $1 if you use a credit card which just seems annoying like we didn’t already buy two meals and drinks. So bring cash if you don’t want misc fees.

So we went to dog Days bar and grill on a Tuesday evening. When we got there, we saw a sign to just go ahead and seat ourselves so we did. A nice young lady immediately came over welcomed us got us some drinks. She came back a few minutes later we gave her our order and things were set in motion. We ordered two appetizers and our meal. 40 minutes later, I flagged down the nice young lady and asked where are appetizers were, mentioning that it's probably about time that our food was ready. She then informed us that the kitchen where we were sitting was not being used, and instead one of the other restaurants that were owned by the same people were the ones cooking or dinner. It was across a plaza type area, where there was a bar and a swim-up area to eat. We finally got our appetizers, and then 10 minutes later the rest of our food came, which was good by the way. So, four stars for food 4 stars for the waitress one star for the restaurant food service.

Dog days is a nice place on the lake to stop for a meal. Nothing fancy but a large menu were everyone can find something to eat. Our group had a wide variety of tastes and everyone found something without major issues. The one issue I did have was the server put my order in wrong, so they brought the wrong dish. He fixed it I just ate about 10 minutes after everyone else. As far as the food it was good we shared coconut shrimp with a spicy mango sauce and I had tacos. The shrimp were very good they were large and flavorful, the sauce was great with them. The tacos were large and flavorful. They did come with some very basic fries but eh, the tacos were good. If you are at the lake in that area, stop by the view is nice and the menu has good choices. They have indoor and outdoor seating so you can get out of the heat if you need to.
