Marilynn's Place — Restaurant in Osage City

There is a gentleman that walks around with pies in his hand & just stares at you, hoping you'll be tempted to buy a piece. It's off-putting because he doesn't say anything, just hovers while you're trying to eat. While this is annoying, it's not the reason for my low rating. There are 2 reasons for that. They allowed a woman to bring her dog (not a service dog) into the restaurant and sit in the booth. When that woman left, one of two waitresses petted the dog and then proceeded to wait on customers, never washing her hands. When we were ordering, the kitchen staff must have been making too much noise (cooking noises - clinking of spatulas on the grill) because our waitress went back and scolded them for it. I've worked in a kitchen before, and those noises can not always be helped. The noises didn't seem to be bothering anyone other than her. She then proceeded to scold the kitchen 2 more times...

I have passed by this restaurant so many times and we decided to finally drop in and try Marilynn's Place. Oh my gosh, I had the Western Omelet and my husband had the Spanish one. Both were loaded with meat, cheese, and veggies. I asked if I could add their gravy, onions and peppers to my hashbrowns and I am so glad that our server was kind enough to say no problem. I am high maintenance where my breakfast is concerned. They blew me away. Everyone was so friendly and it was like sitting in my family's kitchen. We both left stuffed and my Son enjoyed my leftovers. The pies looked very tempting, but I told them I will be back for a slice very soon. If you are traveling through this place is worth a stop. Me and husband we are on a vacation. decided to stop in and try Marilynn's Place. We absolutely loved it. I had the fried gizzards and fried okra. My husband had the double bacon cheese burger with steak fries. The fried gizzards were the best I have ever had. They were tender, juicy, full of flavor, and had a crisp outside. Just the right amount of saltiness and fried to perfection. The okra was fried just right and had the perfect amount of salt and flavor. The double bacon cheeseburger was juicy and had a homemade flavor and was definitely filling. Then then we took pie home, chocolate peanut butter, lemon meringue, and strawberry rhubarb.
