We were in town snowmobiling with friends and craving steak and prime rib. Really happy we went to Quincy's! We started with the potato skins and fried crab stuffed mushrooms which were both divine! Two of us got prime rib and the third got the 16oz t-bone. Prime rib was definitely the way to go. Flavorful and perfectly cooked, portions were huge. The steak was chewy and a little bland. Finished off our meals with chocolaty, gooey brownie sundaes. The server, Janine, was great! Her section was busy but she was on top of it! I took off one star because of a few odd things that didn't make this a perfect experience. There was a large amount of employees from the hostess to the bartender and other servers who were just standing around on their phones while this one hard working server was running around. Also, I ordered a whiskey neat and was very specific about this because the server asked if that meant with ice or not. Anyway, the bartender put ice in the glass. Not a big deal since we were seated near the bar and was able to tell the bartender no ice as he started pouring my whiskey over ice. The bartender seemed clueless for such a simple drink order. Still, we all had a great time and went back to our...
Read moreFirst visit in four years, used to like this place as a Tech student when my parents would visit. Whitefish amandine was good, fries were tasty and are probably the best around. Yes, the green beans were frozen, but mine were cooked crisp and could've passed for fresh - sure beats the hell out of canned. It's the UP, no one is having fresh veggies delivered every morning. The house salad is good size, though the tomato wedge was about as mealy and flavorless as they come (hey, it's February, I know). Wanted some French onion soup (it's a house specialty), but we got there late and they were out. Steaks and prime rib are great, and not quite as pricey as other "upper-crust" Keweenaw restaurants. Plenty of good sandwiches, wet burritos, and nachos are available too, if you don't feel like dropping 15-20 bucks a plate. There is a set list of nightly specials, all of which are good and...
Read moreIt's been awhile since I've been there. I still look back and laugh at how our waitress treated us. It wasn't a busy day, my party of four and another table. We were old friends trying to catch up. We didn't even notice when the waitress sat the menus down. When she came to take our order we all apologized and told her that we would need a minute. She angrily told us that we better hurry up. We were taken aback by her abruptness. We looked at each other then the menu. We decided on sharing a pizza. She informed us that it was about time. She was rude like this throughout our whole meal. Normally I would have spoken to the manager and stormed out, but this was Quincy's. I really wanted...
