Elmhurst Grille — Restaurant in Oskaloosa

Our family was at Elmhurst last night when you were there.  In fact, we were sitting in the same room and had the same server.  I thought our server did a wonderful job and the food was good.  What I noticed about the staff is that they were doing their very best and working hard, all of them.  Our only complaint was you and your family.  As adults, I was shocked at the way that you were speaking to the Elmhurst staff.  I understand that you were underwhelmed by your meal and service, but as adults with children, I would have expected more from someone that should be setting the example for your children.   We had a young child with us and even she noticed your behavior.   One thing to keep in mind the next time you are a restaurant is that a server job can be difficult and these young kids are out in the public working hard instead of out doing not-so-good things like some teenagers do.  Try giving grace and.....our family thinks...

From start to finish, tonight was an absolute treat! Bartenders Dawn and Saria were incredibly attentive and so pleasant to chat with. They mixed up the best margaritas -- made with Don Julio, of course -- perfectly balanced and delicious.

At their recommendation, we shared the Smoked Brisket Flatbread. I’ll admit, I was a little hesitant at first because it had quite a few components… but wow! Tender shredded smoked beef brisket, freshly made Mexican street corn dip, melty mozzarella, a drizzle of tangy BBQ sauce, and pickled onions -- all on a perfectly cooked flatbread crust. Holy Moley -- it was an explosion of flavor in every bite!

Before leaving, I made sure to tell the manager, Tiffany, just how much we enjoyed our evening. Exceptional service, incredible food, and a welcoming atmosphere -- I can’t wait...

We came in tonight with our family. A group of 4. After our waitress took our order, we never saw her again. Everyone that came in after us got their food before us. I had to ask another waitress to check on our food. When she brought the food, my son’s order was completely wrong! He couldn’t even eat it. Then my husband ordered a hamburger and the patty was so small! The bun was much larger than the hamburger. I don’t know what is happening to this place but it is definitely not what...
