Ever since 2020 in the midst of the Covid outbreak, our family discovered Cowpath bakery in Othello Washington. The owner Janice has a vision to serve people and her community. Sticky buns are our favorite ever since childhood when my brother and his friend Dan developed sticky buns for a church camp in the Idaho Forest At Hayden Lake, Idaho In the 1970s! Our family has celebrated (after tasting Janice’s Yummy sticky buns) the bread is heavenly the cinnamon is just right and the sticky buns melt in your mouth. Oh please remember they are smothered in whole pecans. We were so excited that first Christmas we had them shipped to friends and family in California. Now our friends and family request them for their Christmas gift. Once again, the bakery is a class act and shipping the goodies with love and care and they arrived perfect.
With our church family, we celebrate birthdays once a month and the special of the church Potluck is a cake (half sheet size) from Cow Path bakery. I have to say that carrot cake is the most requested by our church goers, although just yesterday I was startled to find no leftovers from the birthday celebration from our German chocolate half sheet cake. Nothing, Nata, not a crumb, …all gone. I guess we’ll have to do another German chocolate cake for a monthly birthday celebration.
I have just shared two favorite items from Cow Path Bakery from our family, but there are many more items that we have sampled and have always returned for a second helping! I encourage you to check out Cow Path bakery And find the sandwich the breakfast item, the cookies, a slice of cheesecake and or a taste of their great coffee. Let us know what you have found...
Read moreI ordered this cake a week in advance and asked for the same cake off of their website except for it to say ‘happy birthday Kyle’ on top. It is a chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting and a melty chocolate ganache drip over the top. I paid in advance. I showed up to this cake. It was in too small of a box so the lid wouldn’t close and the frosting had already been hit on the side of the cake and the rosettes on top. The ‘drips’ down the side look like they were piped on and were terrible. The frosting border on the bottom was very uneven. The whole thing looked like they let the new guy decorate it which was very disappointing. The cake was also toppling over (as seen in photos) and within an hour at room temp the top two layers had sloughed off completely, the box barely containing them. When I picked up the cake with it looking like this the cashier just sheepishly say ‘Sorry, we hope this is okay.’ Like what am I supposed to do now? I’ve already paid for it and his birthday is today so it’s not like you can just make a new one. Incredibly unprofessional. On top of that the cake was dry. Its only saving grace was the peanut butter frosting was tasty and they spelled ‘Kyle’ right. I should’ve just...
Read moreThis place is great! Met the owner and she works there every day; personable lady. Visited 4July when in Othello for a 5k benefit fun run which was really neat and small-town friendly. Told owner I should call the health department ‘cause I could eat so much of her product that it wouldn’t be healthy for me. She giggled and withstood my humor. Neat atmosphere, helpful staff, fine coffee and the cinnamon rolls are great…tried the raspberry cinnamon cream cheese roll and the “regular” version plus the crumble bar, taking the treats home to wife Jennifer who was overcome with joy at how tasty were treats. All excellent. Didn’t purchase any bread, but looked fabulous. Did have a sample of a bread… very good! I don’t often go to Othello, but will make a special trip from Moses to visit again. Had Haman’s ears - (Hamantash) which is really cool - a Purim (Jewish celebration - think Esther, Haman Mordechai and King Xerxes) treat so very pleasantly surprised to find in such a location. How neat!Note the bakery is closed...
