The food was good, but they still have quite a few kinks to work out before they open up at full-capacity.
The menu was small due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but they had a pretty good variety of pub-fare at decent prices. They might be a little overpriced, but I think that's probably a product of their location and clientele.
The bacon brisket nachos were good but could have used some Jalapeños to take them over the top. My wife had the wharf burger and said it was good, too.
Unfortunately my nachos came out 15 minutes before my wife's burger, which drives me nuts at a restaurant. Both were hot, which is better than the alternative, but it was a little awkward eating my meal while my wife waited for hers.
Our server tried really hard and had a great attitude, but it was pretty clear they needed quite a bit more training. We asked several questions that the server didn't know the answers to, and several times they even admitted they were unfamiliar with the position as a server and the system used for ordering. I blame management for not properly training their employees more than I do the server.
Also, one more quick note that rubbed me the wrong way, they sell mixed six-packs to goâwhich is awesome. But, they sell them for the same price as if you purchased six beers from the bar. Maybe this is the industry standard, but I would expect to get some sort of discount if I'm ordering a whole six pack. We decided not to pay $24 for a six pack from the restaurant and instead picked it up at Meijer for $9.99.
I don't mind paying a little more for the six-pack, but I do feel like it would be a lot more popular option if the mark up wasn't quite so much when...
Read moreWhen we got there tonight there was plenty of tables and no one waiting ahead of us or behind us. We were asked if we wanted to sit at the bar and we did not. There were 2 sets of 2, four top tables pushed together that were all empty. So 4 four tops total. The hostess said weâd have to wait if we didnt sit at the bar or downstairs. (I cant do steps) I asked if they could pull one of the tables away that were pushed together and was told by 2 girls, theyâde have to get permission. Finally they got permission to move the table a foot and seat us. Last summer we got one of the best pizzas weâve ever had here so we ordered that again. It was a supreme with lots of veggies. When they set it on the table it didnt look like it had been in an oven for even 5 mins. The cheese was barely melted and the veggies looked as if they were put on after taking it out of the oven. Not cooked AT ALL. And the crust seemed wet and mushy. We told the 2 waitresses it wasnt done and one said it had to be done because all their crusts are cooked ahead. We asked if they could baked it longer and was told they would have to make a new one because we already cut into it and it would stick to their brick oven. Since when do you pre cook a pizza crust that youre putting in a brick oven? They brought another one that was supposed to be well done but it wasnt much different from the first one. Just a little hotter. The veggies were still raw and meats not the least bit toasty. Looked like they just came out of the fridge. We didnt say anything more. What was the point? Such a let down after waitng a year for the great pizza they used to have! Wont...
Read moreI dined at Bent Prop today and wanted to share my experience. While the overall meal was okay, there were a few aspects that left me disappointed.
One particular issue that bothered me was their substitution policy. The Filet Mignon came with mashed potatoes and vegetables, but I preferred having fries and a side caesar salad instead. I was expecting there to be an up-charge for the side salad as is usual with most restaurants. When I got the bill, I was surprised to find out that they charged me the full price of the fries and salad as if I were ordering additional sides. It seems unfair, as I was simply substituting a side dish for another. Mashed potatoes for a different form of potato⊠I believe it would have been more reasonable for them to charge a fee for the salad and substitute the potatoes at no additional cost.
The prices arenât cheap to begin with. Spent $65 on two people with no alcohol.
The food was just okay, definitely not worth the price. Nothing to write home about. Not bad but not good. Mediocre at best. The pizza was extremely greasy.
I included photos of our dishes (along with some friendsâ dishes) and our receipt.
Although the water view was nice, I wonât...
