Geno's Diner — Restaurant in Owen Township

I hardly write reviews, but I have to for this one. After my first visit, I truly was impressed with the food. We had the best biscuits and gravy, my husband’s steak skillet was very good, and everything else se had during that visit was great. We had been recommending this place to everyone we knew. Last time we went, and I believe it is the last time, we had a bad experience. I decided to try their crepes, these were very dry, over cooked and not good at all. I respectfully asked for something else, French toast. The young waitress took the food back and was very loud giving them an explanation of why she needed another order. called me “the girl” and said some other things, which I couldn’t make out, but the tone of voice said it all. She had been very curt with us through the whole service, but warm to the other patrons even before we asked for the French toast. This place is fantastic. My wife and I stopped in for breakfast and were very pleased. I had the country skillet and was impressed with it. Everything was cooked perfectly, they even made sure to add the things like Bell peppers towards the end so they weren't raw or overcooked. It had fresh shredded cheese sprinkled on the top that was so fresh I got to watch it melt on my plate. Everything was seasoned well so it was flavorful but not overpowering, none of it was bland or lifeless. 1st I would like to say the coffee here was AMAZING! Now to the review. The food was fine. Nothing special. My only gripe is that my Monte Cristo sandwich was dipped in French toast eggwash so it was too sweet and definitely had a cinnamon after taste. The 1 girl they had working was very friendly and helpful. She answered our questions and was always quick to refill our drinks. I have only 2 actual complaints. #1 They don't have Splenda. #2 They only have RC Cola! That stuff so nasty I can't believe they are...
