Love this place! The food is amazing and the new owner, Maya, is the sweetest young woman you'll ever meet! She is there from open till close and wants everyone to know if there's something they would like for her to carry, just let her know and she'll do her best to get whatever it may be you'd like to see on the shelves! Barb, Maya's mom, makes fudge weekly right here at the store. She always has something new to try and offers free taste test! Reasonably priced groceries, premade food (which is made daily by their baker, Deb), desserts, muffins, soups and salads. And that's just stuff you can get in the grab n go cooler! With a modernized return to its roots as a general store, I was very pleased to see the Owls Head General Store open. I think the set up of of shelving displays (not really shelves) is not a good arrangement yet, but will evolve. It truly is a general store with a small but growing list of this and that. It also has a small but very thoughtful food menu with reasonable prices. Though I already had lunch I was ready for something sweet and they had an interesting selection of local fudge, so I got the pistachio. Not disappointed. It was not cheap, a bit over $4. We visited the Store on July 4th weekend and absolutely loved our experience. There was so much to look at! All the things you might need on vacation and more besides. Love old general stores and I search for them whenever we travel.

The very kind Lydia took our order. She was very friendly and chatted with us as we waited for our food. My husband and I had to order the famous 7 Napkin Burger.

There are tables outside to eat at in the warmer weather. The burger was as delicious as we had hoped it would be - and messy! (In the best way possible.) Great flavor and a must if you are stopping by the store. There is also a full menu of other options and I am sure all of the other items are just as great.
